Not 4k@60Hz
This adapter is native 1920x1080@60Hz. While it does support 4k, it will run it at lower refresh rate if used alone. You can get around that using the virtual display driver from itsmikethetech. Not easy to do as well... Not as the description so 1 star

Great for headless systems
I use Window's remote desktop and VNC to control PCs and servers around the house. Remote desktop tends to work headless, but it brings some of its own quirks. VNC has its own quirks, including issues when the device runs headless (without a monitor attached or even at times when the monitor is off). Since many of these devices don't otherwise need a monitor, these doodads come in handy. Plug one in and your PC thinks there's a display attached. In reality there isn't, but if you're remoting in, that's hardly a limitation. There are other uses for these dongles, but it's what I use them for, and they work perfectly (even with adapters, such as a mini DisplayPort adapter).

Very useful for VMs with physical GPUs
These HDMI dummy plugs can be helpful for dealing with VMs that use PCI-E pass-through with physical GPUs. They emulate a real monitor so that the VMs can function better.

It works, has a stupid bright blue LED indicator
When I plugged in the first adapter and let Windows 10 detect it, the initial recommended display resolution was 1920x1080 (Recommended). The max resolution available was 5431x3055 on my 1080Ti 8GB. Both adapters I received seem to work as intended. I’m getting resolutions I’d expect and Windows and Linux are both happy with the device. The only complaint I could come up with is the ridiculously bright blue LED. Can’t we all just get past that phase? Not everything needs a stupid bright blue LED in it. At least in the case of this adapter, it will be sitting behind a computer located somewhere it likely won’t be seen at all, as is the reason to need such a device in the first place. But then, doesn’t that make having an LED indicator a moot point?
