The media could not be loaded.  The most important thing for me is how easy it is to clean them and how well they keep their shapes after many uses. This set of brushes arrived super quickly and well packaged, each brush individually sealed and tips protected by plastic tubes.I also like the range of sizes, which covers all numbers I usually use - from large 11 for washes to No1 for the finest details. The round pointy shape is perfect for watercolours and can cope with inks and acrylics for silk painting. The brushes absorb paint very well and release it evenly. The large brushes can cover quite large areas without need to refill frequently the paint, which is especially important for the silk painting.The wooden handles are beautifully finished, very well balanced and pleasant to hold. High quality brushes. This is my second set I bough from ZenArt Supplies and I am very impressed with both of them. I initially used the Artist's Choice brushes for oils which is my preferred medium, but after such success with the badger mix brushes, I decided to give a go with their squirrel mix Black velvet brushes, too. I use them for the watercolour and ink sketches, and they are superb. Their liquid holding and releasing ability is similar to the natural squirrel and high quality synthetic hairs adds a slight spring, which I like. The round shape is truly versatile and considering the range of sizes I easily use this set from washes to the finest details. I liked the packaging of the set, and the fact that each brush came individually wrapped and with plastic tube to protect the pointy tips. The handles are short and just right for watercolours, and beautifully hand-finished with some sort of a pearl-matte paint. I highly recommend the ZenArt brushes to all my friends and going to buy this brand again.

After wasting a lot of money on watercolour brushes I was so frustrated one night I hit the 'no' button which asked 'have I found what I was looking for', so in the box I asked for 'mimic squirrel ' brushes. A couple of weeks later I searched again and these were here. I risked my money on the set but I'm so happy I did because my search for watercolour brushes has ended. These are a pleasure to use and hold so much water or paint you don't have to reload the brush as often, the point stays pointy . I'm housebound and it's impossible to tell what a brush is like from a picture or the reviews but I'm happy I spent my money on these and have recommended them to a few friends who have tried mine and they love them too. Absolutely thrilled with the quality! In fact, the Black Velvet Professional Artist Paint Brushes have a feel of a natural hair paintbrush. I have recently joined a painting class so I wanted to have that flexibility to use the right set when needed. I wanted to have the choice between Watercolour, acrylics and oils so I was more than happy to purchase both sets. I have to say that ZenArt as a brand stands out from the others ones out there. The effort and thoughts put into the packaging and choice of material can only lead to trusting ZenArt as a brand. Will definitely be happy to recommend to friends and family.

Too many hairs came away for them to be used, I could not risk using them with the hairs sticking to the paintings. The company were good and sent me another pack, but unfortunately these were the same, the hair came out in clumps.

Perfect gift for a friend's daughter who studies fine art - she is happy and so am I. :) the best part - they cost a fraction of established brushes' price. It's no brainer that I'll buy them again.

Really nice professional artist brushes. I like the quality of the brushes - well finished short handles just right for watercolors, the bristles are soft and smooth, and hold a lot of paint, releasing it evenly. They wash well and keep the original shape after drying.
