Fantastic purchase couldn't be happier with the phone! [Does have a little bit of bloatware but not unbearable] It's not worth the risk of Rooting at the moment. I have two recommendations if you do this phone: Firstly disable BlinkFeed, I don't really need to loads of articles [often of the same stories] and I doubt many people need that either. I can see the appeal for some people but I just don't need the distraction. Next up install Avast Free Mobile Security. It has some brilliant features, covering locking apps [Only two in the free version] to the incredibly useful SMS commands, if someone steals your phone you can use the website or whoever you put in as a friends phone. The commands range from LOCK [Adds a loud siren which can't be turned down, as well locking the screen which requires your avast pin to close or a message command from your friends phone.] To WIPE which completely wipes the phones data. A couple more interesting commands are preventing apps from being deleted [great one as they won't be able to delete avast very easily] to forcing a GPS or Mobile Data [Useful for finding your phone as a lot of people have these disabled to save power]. Another great feature is SMS on sim card change, this text will cost a very small amount money to send. You can disable this anti theft feature when you're installing a new sim and then you're friend won't get a text saying someone has change the sim in your phone. This one the most useful features as it's one of the first things a thief will do. My thanks go out to ELUXE UK STORE who I ordered from. I'm always a little wary of ordering from sellers on amazon rather than amazon directly but I'm very happy with my decision this time around. :-) SIDENOTE: By ordering this unlocked model of HTC ONE M8 you will be able to update it to lollipop 5.0.1! *Date 17/03/2015* :-)

Mostly satisfied: my second hTc One M8 was delivered as requested and has worked according to hTc standards, with a battery or accumulator which requires the least charging of any smart phone have had so far. The only negative is that its standard camera appears inferior to the one in my old M8. Thank you.

I've had phone 7 months now and USB port won't charge and on contacting seller have discovered he only gives 3 months warranty. Contacted HTC this morning 16/6/16 to discover these phones are brought from USA and this means YOU DON'T HAVE ANY WARRANTY for them. I am very disappointed in this seller as he doesn't declare this in his information about the phone.

Received the phone yesterday. Spent about 4hours setting it up, I.e, music, email, news feeds personalising home screen and apps etc... So far so good. The phone did update apps and systems as well which took a while. During that time the battery did get very hot. Haven't experienced anything like that since then. The phone was delivered a day early in two bubble envelopes, which was a concern. Still it was not damaged, not that I can see. Also, there was no box, manuals, cables or otherwise. Having had this model previously, I had no problems with setting up and charged off my computer via USB. Still a manual could be useful for a user new to HTC. Will update this comment in about one month . Update: Nov 5th 2020 Well I've had this for a while now and set it up to my preference. I did notice that it would not go into sleep mode until I let the battery run completely down to zero. After that I turned it on to charge and that solved the problem. It works well and the battery only needs charging once every two days. It last longer if I turn on Extra power saving mode and if I use the apps continuously, it will run down faster. However, I have no complaints. One other thing, the Blink Feed will only run Twitter and YouTube or other information (alarms etc) on the phone. News republic does not work and I cannot add any other news channels to the blink feed. Though, I have found a work around by subscribing to BBC news on Twitter along with some other news sites. Now I get the news on Blink Feed. That is the only issue, but solved without much effort.

Very disappointed with the phone. First the volume buttons didn't work properly, then the protective screen foil started peeling off and the worst is that now after one month my phone decided not to function any more after auto updating. *Update I have contacted HTC customers services UK and they have discovered that my phone is from the USA so when updating the European software conflicted the American one so this is the reason why it is not working any more. The solution for that is to go to the HTC USA website download and reinstall the software from there. As a piece of advice, contact the seller and check the origin of the phone before purchasing it

Beautiful phone - Just sorry I didn't buy one of these a year ago - Music is everything to me - the best smartphone music player I have experienced (tried many iPhones, Samsung's, Nokia's, etc.) I crave loudness in my music and this delivers. Drives my Shure IEM headphones a treat. I rarely give 5 stars unless exceptional. Seller was quick to dispatch and it arrived in perfect condition - so thank you.

The original was returned as it was not locking in GPS no matter what I did. The replacement was promised within 3 working days but took 5 and only after I called the vendor. The replacement was booted up and everything was in Chinese, so I guess that's where it came from. The previous one was American. At least this one could fix on GPS - which I only found out after managing to change the language. So 3 stars for finally getting me a machine that does what I want it to. Note also that both machines are rooted. Not what I expected and not mentioned in the sales pitch. Before used or new machines are sold, Amazon should insist on the country of origin of the item to better inform the buyer.

Auch ich habe mich zu den glücklichen zählen können, die das Smartphone bereits wenige Tage nach dem Release in den Händen halten durften. Die Rezension versuche ich so objektiv wie möglich zu halten und werde sie auch gelegentlich ergänzen. Für alle lesefaulen habe ich am Ende der Rezension alles wichtige noch einmal im Fazit wiedergeben meine subjektiven Pro/Contras aufgelistet. Gliederung: - Design/Haptik - Oberfläche/Bildschirm/Leistung - Akkulaufzeit - Kamera - Empfangsstärke/Gesprächsqualität/Lautsprecher Design/Haptik: Erste Sahne, da kann man wirklich nicht meckern, das Handy sieht aus wie aus einem Guss gefertigt! Die Farbe Grau macht einen dermaßen edlen Eindruck, dass man schon allein vom Anschauen erkennt, dass es sich um ein Premiumgerät handelt, ganz im Gegenteil zu aktuellen Samsung-Geräten. Die Rückseite liegt trotz der für meine Verhältnisse enormen Größe sehr gut in der Hand und ich will sogar behaupten, besser als das kompakte iPhone 5, welches ich ein Jahr lang meinen Begleiter nannte. Lediglich die Lautsprechertaste hat bei mir ein wenig Spielraum nach vorne und hinten, was mich bei einem gerät dieser Preisklasse wirklich verärgert. Ich hoffe, dass es sich hierbei um einen Produktionsfehler handelt, der nur in der ersten Palette vorkommt. Da mich das aber nicht sonderlich stört, werde ich das Gerät aufgrund sonst keinerlei vorhandener Mängel trotzdem behalten. Leider kommen die Hände auf der Rückseite bei momentanen Temperaturen sehr schnell ins Schwitzen. Dies liegt daran, dass sich das Aluminium der Temperatur anpasst und somit ein hitzestau zwischen Fingern und Rückseite entsteht. Gefahr des Rutschens besteht dadurch allerdings nicht, da das Aluminium relativ rau und dadurch sehr griffig ist. Alternativ ist auch ein Silikon-Cover für die Rückseite im Lieferumfang dabei, welches sehr gut angepasst ist, das Gerät auch nur minimalst größer macht und sogar die beiden Öffnungen für Kopfhörer und Ladegerät an der Unterseite abdeckt, bei Bedarf aber einfach ausgeklappt werden kann, ohne das Cover entfernen zu müssen – klasse, hier wurde mitgedacht! Die Benachrichtungs-LED ist in den oberen Lautsprecheröffnungen platziert, und kann lediglich in den Farben Orange und Grün leuchten. Sie leuchtet sehr dezent, aber trotzdem gut erkennbar und absolut nicht aufdringlich. Dass endlich auch eine Micro-SD Karte Platz finden kann, ist sehr erfreulich und kann dem Handy nur positiv angerechnet werden. Meine 64 GB Karte von SanDisk wurde sofort erkannt und nach dem ersten Starten der Kamera-App wird man sofort gefragt ob man zukünftig auf dem erweiterten Speichermedium speichern mag. Super! Oberfläche/Bildschirm/Leistung: Als ehemaliger iPhone-Nutzer konnte ich natürlich von den vielen Funktionen von Android nur träumen. Allerdings fand ich mich trotzdem sehr schnell zurecht und muss sagen dass die Sense-Oberfläche von HTC sehr hübsch gemacht ist. Ob einem nun TouchWizz (Samsung) besser gefällt, sei jedem selbst überlassen. Für mich ist Sense eine extrem Benutzerfreundliche Oberfläche, der Newsfeed ist praktisch und auch die Entsperrung des Displays, sei es nun über Doppelklick oder diverse Streich-Gesten; es ist einfach sehr flexibel und vielseitig. Das Display macht mit dem 5 Zoll-Bildschirm in Full-HD-Auflösung einfach nur Spaß. Dass die 3 Android-Tasten nahezu in jeder App unten eingeblendet werden, stört bei dieser Größe nicht sonderlich. Die Farben sind knackig, realitätsnah und selbstverständlich gestochen scharf (hier muss ich bezüglich Samsung anmerken, dass dessen Farben meiner Meinung nach zu plastisch und grell sind). Die Helligkeit ist ebenfalls sehr gut regelbar, die automatische Helligkeitsregulierung sogar sehr angenehm. Man kann hierbei auch die maximal mögliche Helligkeit selbst wählen, somit wird das Display nicht heller als man es wünscht. Zur Leistung braucht man nicht viel sagen, es gibt keinerlei Ruckler, alles läuft super flüssig und der Touchscreen arbeitet präzise. Selbst im Energiesparmodus, wo die Leistung des Prozessors gezügelt wird, ist mehr als genug Power vorhanden um alles flüssig darzustellen. Akkulaufzeit: Lustiger weise muss ich gestehen, dass dies mein größter Kritikpunkt für das Gerät war. Wer iPhone-Akkus lobt, den verstehe ich sowieso nicht. Mein iPhone 5 hat mich meist gerade so über den Tag gebracht, bei einer relativ gemäßigten Nutzung. Das HTC befindet sich bei mir noch im ersten Ladezyklus! Mit 75% habe ich es am 05.04.2014 um 10:05 Uhr zum ersten Mal angeschaltet, alles synchronisiert, Apps installiert und das Gerät eingerichtet. Der Akku hatte am Abend immer noch 30% und mich somit noch über den nächsten halben Tag gebracht, und zwar bei aggressiver Nutzung, ohne Energiesparmodus wohlgemerkt. (DARAN IST ABER DAS GERÄT SCHULD, ES IST EINFACH SO SEXY DASS MAN ES NICHT MEHR WEGLEGEN WILL!!) Ich bin sicher, dass die Akkulaufzeit noch ein bisschen besser wird, ist aber auf jeden Fall schon extrem zufriedenstellen. Durchschnittsnutzer könnten meiner Einschätzung nach sogar ohne Probleme 3 Tage ohne eine Steckdose auskommen. Kamera: Dieses Thema wurde schon oft genug durchgekaut. Ich kann hier eigentlich nur die Testergebnisse bestätigen: Die Rückkamera macht Fotos, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Die Auflösung ist wirklich sehr gering, das merkt man beim Zoomen. Für normale Fotos, zum Teilen mit Freunden, wie es bei mir meist der Fall ist, reicht sie locker aus. Die Bilder werden heller als bei den meisten anderen Kameras, teils sogar überbelichtet, aber nicht wirklich unbrauchbar. Dennoch würde ich behaupten, dass HTC im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz mit Abstand die Schlechteste Rückkamera hat. Die Frontkamera alias „Selfie-Cam“ dagegen macht wirklich extrem gute Bilder! Auch um sich nur mal kurz anzuschauen bevor man in die Öffentlichkeit geht, ist dies in Verbindung mit dem großen Display wirklich eine feine Sache. Empfangsstärke/Gesprächsqualität/Lautsprecher: Hier kann ich leider nur mit dem iPhone vergleichen. In meiner Wohnung (erster Stock, kleine Stadt), hatte ich mit dem iPhone oft keinen Empfang, Gespräche sind regelmäßig abgebrochen. Mit dem HTC sieht das ganz anders aus. Mindestens 3 Balken, wenn nicht sogar vollen Empfang in nahezu jeder Ecke, wirklich TOP! Ich hatte bis jetzt noch keinerlei Empfangsprobleme. Auch die Gesprächsqualität ist ausgezeichnet. Da ich hochgradig schwerhörig bin, tue ich mir mit dem Telefonieren übers Handy normalerweise schwer, aber was das HTC mir da abliefert, ist einfach perfekt. Die Boom-Boom-Lautsprecher hauen einen ebenfalls aus den Socken. Ich Kann dieses Handy endlich wieder als Wecker benutzen, ohne Angst haben zu müssen, dass ich es überhören würde. Die Lautsprecher spucken einen satten, raumfüllenden, klaren Klang und haben auch wirklich einen Bass, der nicht blechern klingt. Das kann absolut kein Konkurrenzmodell in dieser Präzision (warten wir noch auf das Xperia Z2). Notfalls kann man damit wirklich eine kleine Party in der Wohnung beschallen. NOTFALLS! :D Pro: - Herausragende Haptik für diese Größe; mit einer Hand bedienbar - Edles und robustes Design - Flüssige, übersichtliche und praktische Oberfläche - Enorme Akkulaufzeiten möglich - Gute Frontkamera - Klare Telefonqualität - Extrem gute Lautsprecher - Micro-SD Kartenslot – geht doch! Neutral: - Größe, wobei man sich daran schnell gewöhnen kann und es in der Hosentasche nicht störender sitzt als ein iPhone Contra: - Für Viel-Fotografen nicht geeignet Fazit: HTC hat extrem gute Arbeit geleitstet und hätte nicht die Kamera solche Probleme, würde es definitiv das Beste Handy 3 aktuellen Flaggschiffe (Galaxy S5 und Xperia Z2) sein. Für mich ist es das auch, da ich in einem Smartphone keine Spiegelreflexkamera erwarte, und selbst die vorhandene für meine Ansprüche genügt. Somit kann ich das Handy wirklich jedem empfehlen, der keinen großen Wert auf perfekte Fotos legt, aber ansonsten ein absolutes High-End-Gerät mit überdurchschnittlicher Verarbeitung und extrem guter Ausdauer haben will. Über ein „hilfreich“ würde ich mich sehr freuen. __________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE (14.04.14): Inzwischen kann ich einige Details noch ausführlicher widergeben: 1.Akkulaufzeit: Nach wie vor erstklassig. Bei Vielnutzung komme ich locker über 2 Tage und habe am Ende vom zweiten Tag noch etwa 15-10% übrig. Ich muss zugeben, dass ich den Energiesparmodus immer mehr verwende, da der Leistungverlust keinesfalls bemerkbar ist und die Akkunutzung dadurch nochmals enorm steigt. Nach Recherche über die bestmögliche Akkuschonung kann ich noch sagen, dass man idealerweise den Akku die ersten beiden Zyklen bis etwa 6% leer werden lassen soll und dann komplett aufladen sollte. Danach ist es relativ egal, jedoch sollte der Akku nie weniger als 5% haben, bis man ihn wieder auflädt. Ebenfalls ist es noch etwa 1-2 mal im Monat hilfreich, die Akkuschonung durchzuführen. (Die Ladezeit beträgt bei mir etwa 1 3/4 Stunden, was ich für 2.600 mAh als relativ schnell empfinde.) 2.Bedienung im Bezug auf die Onscreen-Tasten und Schwarze HTC-Leiste: Hierzu möchte ich noch meine Erfahrung widergeben. Am Anfang dachte ich auch, dass der „verschenkte“ Platz wirklich eine Fehlkonstruktion ist, jedoch muss ich mittlerweile gestehen, dass die Onscreen-Tasten auf einer perfekten Höhe sitzen, um sie mit dem Daumen zu erreichen. Wären sie in der HTC-Leiste untergebracht, würde die Handlichkeit nicht mehr so komfortabel sein, da man das Handy weiter unten halten müsste und somit aufgrund des Schwerpunktes das Gerät nicht mehr sicher in der Hand liegen würde. Auch dass Platz der 5 Zoll dadurch verloren geht, wirkt sich keineswegs negativ aus. Es ist immernoch mehr als genug Bildschirmfläche vorhanden, um flüssig und entspannt zu arbeiten. Bei den meisten Apps werden durch Updates die Tasten sowieso ausgeblendet und bei Film/Youtube ist ebenfalls der gesamte Bildschirm für die Videowiedergabe nutzbar. 

Dopo 3 settimane posso dire che è il miglior acquisto che abbia mai fatto, inutile ripetere quello che hanno già scritto e che già si conosce su questo telefono uscito ormai da quasi un anno, quello che vi dico è che aperta la scatola c'è stato il cosi detto effetto wow, hanno curato i minimi particolari su questo smartphone, la scocca in alluminio è davvero eccezionale da veramente la sensazione di avere tra le mani un prodotto premium ma soprattutto di aver speso 540 euro per qualcosa che li vale. Parto dalla ricezione che è la cosa che più mi soddisfa, come termine di paragone uso il nexus 5 che avevo prima e il nokia e72, in garage con sim tim questi due perdevano il segnale One rimane con 2/3 tacche, il 4g va a meraviglia e anche il 3g l'audio in capsula forse non altissimo ma buono il vivavoce invece è superbo come pure l'audio dalle cuffie(ottime tra l'altro). Gli altoparlanti stereo con il famoso boomsound è qualcosa di incredibile e non dico altro. Il DISPLAY forse non è ottimizzato a livello di cornici ma ha una definizione e luminosità da primo della classe. La BATTERIA dura moltissimo considerando che è solo una 2600mah ma nella sense mancano le statistiche di batteria relative alle ore di schermo acceso bisogna scaricare un app dallo store. Completo a livello di connessioni. La vera chicca è il software, la sense è davvero un passo avanti, grande idea quella di blinkfeed ma soprattutto la velocità e fluidità di tutto il sistema dalla apertura app alla navigazione nella UI non ha pari nemmeno tra i nexus, davvero notevole secondo me il più veloce android del mercato e con il miglior broswer web. La FOTOCAMERA la trovo soddisfacente alterna delle bellissime foto ad alcune cosi cosi, velocissima nel punta e scatta e piena di effetti post-scatto ben integrati e realizzati. L'unico difetto che posso trovare è l'eccessiva delicatezza dovuta all'alluminio della scocca, consiglio sicuramente l'acquisto di una cover anche se già presente una in silicone nella scatola. Ha l'espansione tramite micro sd e permette lo spostamento di alcune app ma non quello relativo ai dati che rimangono sulla memoria del telefono problema dovuto a kitkat. Lo consiglio vivamente non ve ne pentirete. Arrivato in scatola sigillata oltre all'imballo fornito da Amazon. AGGIORNAMENTO Batteria: Riesco a superare le 5 ore di display acceso.

Je rejoins l'avis précédent sur le fait qu'il ne soit pas en français. En fait le mien vient de Lituanie suite à un appel à HTC pour leur demander la manip à faire pour le mettre dans la langue de Molière. Franchement c'est on ne peut plus simple : il suffit d'insérer la carte sim de votre opérateur "français" et de télécharger un logiciel du type "change language". Après redémarrage tout rentre dans l'ordre. Mise à jour faite sur Lollipop (Android 5.0.1). Vendu et expédié par Amazon pour 349€ , c'est une super affaire ! Par contre chose étrange le prix est passé à 510€ 2 jours plus tard...

M8 is an impressive phone. It delivers exactly what is promised. I'm so happy returning to a once favorite company. HTC Sense has been streamlined from my last contact with it (Desire). M8 feels responsive all the time. No unneeded shadowed decorations or animations (that I loved before I must admit). Camera is enough for me. Reading other reviews maybe you should evaluate and study M8 camera results (Maybe better cameras on other phones). I must insist pictures are superb for "casual" use. I don't like to give 5 stars to products. Every product is not perfect. M8 is not perfect for sure. But the feeling using it is perfect indeed. So here my 5 stars

Debo decir que hace años que deseo poseer un iPhone pero siempre me he echado atrás porque me parece escandaloso que se cobre por algo el doble de su precio real. Así, cuando salió a la venta el iPhone 5s y estando a punto de comprarlo opté por un HTC One de la primera serie M7, que es el primer teléfono del cual he podido decir estar plenamente satisfecho. A punto de salir el iPhone 6 estaba ya dispuesto a adquirirlo, pero cuando me enteré que habían sacado el teléfono con una gama inferior de pantalla, solamente para distinguirlo del 6 plus, pensé que nuevamente me estaban tomando el pelo y opté por el nuevo HTC One M8. Debo decir que estoy encantado de la decisión. La versión que enviaron parece ser la alemana por lo que podido comprobar con el servicio técnico de HTC es de lo cual estoy muy satisfecho, ya que la vez anterior me enviaron una versión latinoamericana (ningún problema con las actualizaciones solo que era 3G) La capa de usuario de HTC, sense, es estupenda, muy por encima de las de Samsung y Sony que son las que conocía. HTC cumple con sus clientes en el aspecto de actualizaciones y lo más importantes las actualizaciones son redondas no tienen bugs, funcionando perfectamente. El teléfono es muy cómodo para quien tenga una mano razonablemente grande como yo, y si funcionabas bien con el M7 seguirás haciéndolo con el M8 que apenas es más ancho, aunque si más largo. El mismo extraordinario acabado metálico que no tiene nada que envidiar al iPhone y la misma excelente calidad del sonido tanto externo cómo interno. Siempre ponen como pega la cámara del M8 pero a mi me parece más que razonable para un smartphone. Es cierto que 4 Mpx se quedan cortos si lo que deseas ampliar o recortar, pero para fotos casuales o para instagram es perfecta. En resumen, que el 26 de Septiembre, que se ponía a la venta el carísimo iPhone 6 con sus cutres 16 mg solo ampliables comprando un modelo mas caro, su cutre giga de ram, frente a dos del M8 y su cutre pantalla con cien puntos menos de resolución, recibía yo mi nuevo HTC One, del que estoy muy satisfecho por el momento. Addendum: Si dudais entre el M7 o el M8, acertaréis sea cual sea vuestra decisión: los dos son unos teléfonos excelentes.
