It fits Nissan Qashqai & it works!
Never having used any product like this before, I was a bit apprehensive and wasn't sure it if was going to fit my car or if it will work. As suggested by another reviewer, I chose to watch a video instead of following the 2 page instructions, which was a good call I think. Wasn't too difficult to set it up, having 2 people helped as one person was able to hold the rack in place while the other put on the clips to various places on the car & tighten the belts. Took about 10 mins to set it up and we were ready to go. We needed to use only one bike for now, which fitted quite well. I had separately ordered a couple of straps to keep the front wheel steady, which came in handy. We drove from Birmingham to Cambridge on combination of motorway & A roads, and had no issues. By the end of the trip, we did notice the rack had gotten a bit wonky, most probably because I didn't tighten one side of the belt properly. Or perhaps the clip could have moved a little, loosening the belt a little. Overall, quite happy with it. Now the issue is where to store it, as it's not small :). Need to find a place in the shed.

Sturdy, great bit of kit
I'm really happy with this, it appears well made, it's sturdy, secure and does the job. Thick rubber pads prevent it leaving marks on your car as some bike holders can. Build quality seems really good.

Great product, but check the hooks fit
Used on a hatchback vauxhall estate and it fits well. After a bit of practice it is quick to get on and off. Feels sturdy and the bikes are secure. Great product for the price. Only downside is that the metal hooks on the straps rely on having wide enough panel gaps, which may not always be the case. They are also hard metal, so could easily damage paintwork if you are, for example, sliding them along because they don't fit in the gap. It feels like a strong plastic would be a better choice.

Fabulous
Excellent product. Easiest bike rack i have ever fitted. Held 2 bikes with ease, and only needed a couple of bungies to stop the free wheels spinning, but this is my preference Not sure why people say it takes a long time to set up.... i swear it took me less than 10 mins, in the back room, before i took it and tried it on car.... but that may just have been luck Love the fact that folded it will stay in my boot, or sit behind drivers seat if i am transporting the dog Well constructed and lovely and light, with a lifetime guarantee, what more can you want

It will damage your car, fitments are poor design. Metal fittings from rack to the paint of your car
Ok product fits well. The fittings are metal no softness on the contact points to your vehicle, wouldn’t like to connect two cycles to this as the cycle moves around a lot. If like me you were looking to save on a purchase of a tow bar , this isn’t a good choice. For one cycle this is ok, if you have a couple of cheaper end bike this will be great. Ant also if you have a cheap boot to attach this rack to.

Excellent Bike Rack
I read the reviews and decided this was the product for me. It was definitely worth that few pounds more. It was fitted the first time in 10 minutes and this was the first bike rack I’ve ever fitted. The bike when fitted is very secure and did not move at all. Protection on the legs is also excellent. 5 stars from me

Feels sturdy for a predominantly plastic made product
Ready to set up but could take 2 goes to get it spot in the first time. Easy to attach to the car. I have a Mercedes E220 saloon and it fits well. I would be concerned about the metal clips on the bit edges chipping or making the paint after time but it’s ok presently. It’s tricky putting on the two bikes but practice will make perfect.

Good solid bike rack, with one drawback
The Saris Bones 2 rack is well made and designed, simple to assemble, compact to store and really solid on the back of the car. I’ve got an electric bike with a built in battery in the down tube so the anti sway straps don’t fit, but I just use some bungees for that purpose, the straps will fit a conventional bike. One downside, despite it being recommended for our car, Skoda Rapid, a fitted bike obscures the number plate which may cause an issue with the police. I plan to fit a temporary plate when using the rack again. Otherwise fully recommended.

Easy to install; easy to use; but ...
This bike rack was relatively easy to put together. It feels fairly sturdy, although with only one base arm on the top of the trunk (tripod stability), I did notice with my first use that the rack did shift slightly when driving extensive distances. For some reason, the clasp part of the anchor straps on one side of the rack were practically inside the frame; and on the other side, they were about 4"-6" away from the frame, which made it much easier to adjust the straps on one side of the rack versus the other. Main complaint about this rack: as it is designed to have the lower arms sit on the bumper, not the back wall of the trunk lid, it makes it a challenge to open the trunk, because you must line everything up just-so in order to close the trunk. I used it for long-distance bike hauling, which meant when I wanted to get something out of the trunk, I had to readjust the rack every time I needed to open the trunk, making sure the feet lined up so they would not get in the way of closing the trunk, and that all the straps were still in place. As I was on the road for four days, and did not want to leave my bike unattended on my car overnight (despite security strap into trunk), I had to open my trunk each night to put the security strap anchor back inside the trunk, so this was not something to not fret about. (Also, historically, I have simply left my bike rack on my car for long periods of time, and this trunk open/close issue means I'll only keep the rack on the car when I actually need it.) On this rack, as with previous bike racks I've owned, I do wish there was a bit of rubber on the clasps to help make the straps feel more secure once everything is tightened up. Minor complaint. Ease of use once assembled/in place: feel like it is pretty easy to get bikes onto this rack. Second bike was a little bit of a challenge to get it on, but I think that was more due to how the frames of the two bikes aligned more than a flaw of the rack design. I do wish the strap on the lower part of the rack, meant to secure the vertical bar of the bike frame, was perhaps two inches longer. There are holes at the end of the straps that you can loop a lock through (or a thin cable wire lock). They're more theft-deterrent than theft-preventative, as they're plastic, so a determined bike thief could cut through them, I think. Overall, compared to my previous rack, I like this one quite a bit. Feels sturdy. Straps drive me a bit nuts, but honestly, I have yet to have a bike rack where the straps aren't aggravating in one form or another. Easy to remove rack from car.

UPDATE - replaced it with a platform hitch-mount rack...better for someone younger and stronger
This purchase was an excellent decision. My retired husband and I have just started to cycle for exercise, and we have an Acura sedan and a Matrix hatchback. I wanted something that would be easy to install on either car. I installed it the first time this weekend, completely by myself including putting the two bikes on. I'm a 55 year old woman, and it was incredibly easy. I surprised my husband when I'd shown him my accomplishment. We took it out for the first time yesterday, and it was incredibly stable. And easy at both ends of the trip. UPDATE: This does not fit on the Acura TSX nearly as easily as the Matrix. As a result, we only used it on the Matrix. It took a lot of adjusting to get it stable. It requires quite a bit of strength to lift the bikes up onto the arm. There were many, um, disagreements over the installation, which made cycling not so much fun. I bought a new car and had a trailer hitch installed, so this year I'll buy a platform hitch-mount rack and sell this one to someone younger and stronger.
