I really did not expect much from this lens, but I was really surprised when I tried it out and it worked, and worked really well. The lens it preset to a shade 10, so it does not have the adjustments, but for regular welding, that is all I typically use. I can't actually measure the reaction time, but it seems to be really quick.Quick enough that I do not see arc flashes before it darkens. The nice thing is it fits in my existing helments, so I do not have to go out and purchase a new helmet just to get auto-darking. I like the lens and have installed it in a helmet that was my fathers. I can recomend this lens.

Not as expected
Took it out the box today to try it out at work the lense didn't budge at all it kept on bugging out and everytime I went to tack it wouldn't do the automatic darkening it's a good price item but very disappointed that It didn't perform the way I thought it would

Renew That Old Helmet!
The ATHELMET 2.5 Auto Darkening Welding Lens arrived in a timely manner in a vacuum formed blister. The welding lens was just as described in online information.The lens is the main component of an electric arc welding helmet. The lens is part of an auto darkening mechanism that protects the welder from brilliant light, UV rays, hot sparks, loose parts and metal spatters. The auto darkening lens is the smaller of two standard cartridge sizes and measures 4.25/2.0/0.2-inches. Instructions are packed behind the lens inside the blister wrapper. Detailed specifications are also inside. The principle feature is the lightness of the filter in daylight, the darkness of the filter when exposed to electric arc and the speed of transition between them. This lens has the common properties 2.5 filter light and 11 filter dark mode. Examination of the protective lens shows excellent workmanship. I chose this item because arc welding is my hobby. Many welders will find this product a great way to improve vision and extend the lifetime of expensive equipment. As a result, this is a great value.Enjoy!Highly recommended.

Worked Perfectly
I needed a spare set of welding goggles to help teach a friend of mine how to weld. I didn't trust the super cheap tinted goggles that claim to be good for welding, but I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a helmet either. In the end I found these replacement auto shades. They're perfect for giveing a welding novice a taste of how to take care of your eyes while welding. All I needed to do was CAD up a frame to hold it, and 3D print it out. Wala, I had a decent pair of auto shade welding goggles at a fraction of the cost.
