I have been looking for a top-quality magnifying glass for at least one year. I finally found a great product in this purchase. I wanted to be able to read fine print without straining or swapping out prescription eyeglasses. Although I wanted more of a hands-free "desktop" lens, I couldn't find anything that I thought would work for me. And I didn't want to wear anything on my head. I am pleased with the following features: large viewing lens, crisp image, and comfortable handle. My biggest surprise was that the three LED lights are very bright and helpful. The lens itself has a smaller lens that also works quite well. This magnifier is a little heavy, but that's the trade-off for having a large, high-quality lens and a handle that holds 3 AAA batteries for the LED lights. My only concern is that when I tap the lens gently on a soft surface (my couch) I hear a slight rattle. To me that only means that I should take care not to be too rough with the lens (and I'm thinking that's a good idea, regardless).

I bought this for my mother who is having a real difficult time seeing they all seem too small or too heavy and she just absolutely loves it. There are three different switches for brightness and she even carries it in her purse. I was so happy because she was having a hard time seeing! She uses it all the time it runs on three AAA batteries and it is well worth the price and good quality.

Well made and good balance. Bought two. Put batteries in one and the other one did not . Easy to accidentally press the light up button and there are times when not want that feature, so no batteries installed. Size is great as smaller, 3 inch ones have to be moved a lot and hard to read. The 5 inch size is great for reading. Happy with product. No distortion.

Purchased for mom who is in nursing home. The light definitely helps…wish it magnified just a little bit more. The weight was okay for her to hold even with the use of only one hand.

The Best Ever… for me. As a geology student I have had an assortment of hand lens & magnifying glasses. Now, as a senior citizen I have found the perfect one for me & will be donating all the rest. This one has the widest lens I have had in a hand held version, for normal page reading & map work. The two smaller inserts replace the need for me to use a jeweler’s/geologist’s loupe or microscope. Compare the magnification levels for yourself before buying. I’m thrilled with this one for my needs. Great design with excellent light configuration & materials feel as if they will take getting knocked around with rock specimens in a backpack, as long as I keep it in the bag it came with. Weird! When you look through it, things look bigger. Like wow! But then again, that is what I expect it to do. For that it gets 5 stars. Didn't even have to work for it. Oh yeah, it has a white light and a UV light so you can see inappropriately placed fluids.
