Dowco WeatherAll Plus Motorcycle Cover, Ratchet Attachment, Black Waterproof, Large [52003-02]

First of all, my use case for this is my 2005 BMW R1200RT which sits outdoors 24x7 year around. I live in the upstate of South Carolina and so it's relatively temperate with extreme heat/humidity in the summer and mild winters with occasional freezes since I'm in the foothills of the mountains. My bike is in pristine condition because I take care of it and a key part of that is my bike covers: I've used a couple revisions of a particular budget cover purchased from Amazon which I won't mention here because the 1st version was spectacular (for the price) and the next revision was absolute garbage and didn't last but a few months. I was so disgusted by that 2nd revision that instead of shopping for a value cover I went for the other end of the spectrum - the best I could find because I was insulted in the product that I had previously purchased. Well, this cover was the other end of the spectrum for what I could find for my bike. And Wow! Just Wow! I've been using it for 5 months now and while that's not yet a few years (like I'm expecting to get), I'm extremely impressed: I have the optional ratchet system for the tie down and I HIGHLY recommend it since it eliminates wind buffeting which will wear away paint for covers left on for long periods of time (like my bike has from my previous covers that fitted loosely). The ventilation system built into the cover is fantastic - it eliminates mildew that is certainly a problem in my climate when a cover is left on for many weeks at a time during the hot/humid summer months. The superior materials and fit and top-notch - what you would expect at this price; you get what you pay for when buying some products and that's the case here. In summary - you don't know what you'll actually get when buying online but I was thoroughly impressed because I got what I paid for when I bought this. Excellent product all the way 'round.

Update summer 2022: My covers are now 5, and 3 years old. I'm in Arizona, and the sun destroys everything down here. We are just getting through a really good, drenching monsoon season, and my Dowco covers are still keeping my girls safe and dry.NOTHING I have out in the AZ sun lasts like these (not my very expensivecar cover, not my 10 by 10 professional-grade shed). I'm not rich. I actually live in my RV, so my bikes are outside in everything from sun and rain - to hail, snow and severe winds. I'm updating because I can only afford to keep the nicest things I own, because of the quality of their products. ❤I bought my first Dowco cover about two years ago for my Ducati Monster. It is still in great shape, even though it sits outside in the sun daily in the high altitude of Arizona. So I just bought two more, to cover my Harley's, which also unfortunately can't be garaged. These covers are well-sewn, water resistant, have a liner to protect windscreens and gauges, a waterproof vent up top to reduce moisture build-up, and a sewn-in draw strap along bottom to ensure they stay on in windy weather.

This isn't the first Dowco cover I purchased. I am a loyal customer of the brand because the covers are sturdy and weather resistant and therefore have purchased many Dowco covers over the years for the numerous motorcycles I have had. Dowco also stands behind their product as I had to at one time after several years of use replace a cover that was weather worn. I contacted Dowco, sent them a sample patch of the material that was weather worn and they sent me a new cover. The double extra large size fit my Harley Davidson Road Glide Limited touring motorcycle perfectly. I don't have a garage so this cover protects a motorcycle that costs $40,000. Needless to say, I rely on the cover to protect my investment. The reason for knocking off one star is that the ratchet mechanism, although a great idea, doesn't work all that great. I pulled the draw strings as far as I could pull them out but only the draw string in the back half of the motorcycle is pulled tight to the motorcycle, the front part of the motorcycle cover is still loose around the bottom of the motorcycle. An inherent weakness of the ratchet mechanism in completely drawing a string in a large cover such as this.

Covers my dirt bike that sits in the AZ sun. Has held up great. Totally worth the money.

I just received the cover and have been using it to cover my 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure outdoors. The cover feels very heavy duty. I would not feel the need for something this heavy if one was going to be traveling but for me I am storing my bike outside so the heavier and sturdier the better. It has a ratchet draw string at the bottom to synch the cover on the bike. It works and I think I am going to like it but it does require a little finagling to get it to synch without bunching up. I think as I break it in it will continue to synch easier. The soft underlying material seems to match up to my windscreen perfectly. I am glad that I bought it. It is exactly what I was looking for to store outdoors.

XXL is what you need for a Harley Davidson Ultra classic. The cover fits perfect and pulls tight around the bottom. Everything gets covered. Awesome product. Water repels away and keeps the dirt and dust away. Highly recommend if your ride is parked outside.

This cover was recommended by a friend and I never looked back. Only downside, is folding it and having a spot on the bike to carry it when out for rides to be used again on errands. Other than that it’s good UV protection and weighted enough from winds. Solid workmanship.
