Armory Replicas Spartan Life Size Historical Shield

Great idea for cos play or just gift giving. We give ours to spouses when they husband departs our army unit. They seem very durable and it's a good size for a shield. Looks just like what i expect from a spartan shield so it's a great value for your money.

For the price it's not a bad deal the back is metal but the front is some kind of resin that is spray painted the paint chips a little bit but overall good for the price and it weighs about 16 pounds

So, the description reads: Construction: cast aluminum with rubberized backing Carried: has a thick wooden handle for increased durability and an adjustable nylon strap for fitting. 1. This IS NOT aluminum, it's plastic, and cheap plastic made in china. 2. There is no handle or nylon strap, although there used to be some sort of carrying apparatus on it. The one I got has a chain on it for hanging on the wall. There is no way to carry it. 3. The way it's designed to hang, it's upside down. I'm guessing that some booger-eating moron at the warehouse grabbed the wrong one, or put the wrong ones in the bins and the machine simply grabbed from the place the one I ordered should have been. Of course, same booger-eating moron is probably the quality control person ensuring you're supposed to be getting what you ordered... Great job Amazon! (NOT!)

The ad stated the weight was 5 pounds. The shipping weight was over 10 pounds and I discovered after opening the box that the shield was almost 10 pounds, not the 5lbs it was advertised as. It also wasn't aluminum with a rubber backing as advertised. It is made of a heavy plastic, or better known as sirocco. I am an older woman and was not happy with the weight, but kept it because I needed it as a prop before another could be ordered. It looks great, but the Velcro strap on the back wouldn't stay hooked on so I had to make another one myself. The first picture is the back, the strap in the middle is the one that wouldn't stay on. I wouldn't recommend this shield unless you don't care that the ad is very misleading.

My daughter wanted this for her birthday and she loved it.

the shield is a little heavy,the strap sucks. this thing is good for cosplay & decoration ONLY. the aluminum is super thin and the rest is very brittle.it fell from shin high to the ground and a good 1x2 inch chunk broke off. the edge of the shield was sharp in spots and had to be filed down. I give two stars for the look and feel of it.

Great going away gift for a friend. I added a custom name plate to it. Heavy duty but not for use as an actual shield.
