Artme Cotton Artist Apron - Art Studio, Painting, Crafting, Pottery

It feels workman like, strong but comfortable. Good choice for a messy oil painter artist like me!

As someone who enjoys painting and crafting, and occasionally likes to get "messy", this apron is (almost) perfect ! It arrived neatly folded in a small plastic wrapper. The apron itself is made from 100% unbleached cotton, which definitely appealed to me.The apron has more pockets than I expected. There is one large pocket on the front top middle section which measures approx 15 cms wide and 18 cms deep. It has the word "Artme" printed in black. There are four more pockets along the bottom. The two large outside pockets measure approx 18 cms wide by 20 cms deep. Between these two pockets are two smaller pockets measuring 6 cms wide by 20 cms deep.The neck is adjustable, and there are two plastic "D" rings to thread the cord through. The apron ties at the back by simply tying the two cords.Opinion:-Plus points👍 Made from 100% cotton.👍 All stitching and seams well finished with neat edges.👍 Lots of pockets.👍 Good value for money.Minus points👎Material feels a little stiff.👎The two slim pockets in the middle are very deep (20 cms). As you can see from my photo, they are too deep to hold a normal sized pen/pencil. As they are only 6 cms wide, if you did put a pen/felt tip/marker/pencil/paintbrush in then you would have trouble getting it out. They would hold a long handled paintbrush, so long as you are careful not to sit down with the brush in the pocket !Overall, I am very happy with this apron, and it will be useful for when I am crafting and painting. I have knocked one star off for the above minus points, but I am still very happy to recommend it. I have actually considered "personalising" mine with my favourite rubber stamps and fabric paints. It is a good thick apron and nice size.

Does what it says but uncomfortable to wear, very stiff

This apron is made from pristine unbleached cotton, and has a beige colour, which will appeal to someone with a purist philosophy towards life and who wants everything they come into contact with, and surround themselves with, to be natural. This apron certainly is certainly as natural as it is possible to be… simple design, no frills, no jazzy colours, no attempt to be modern or appear chic. The natural appearance will appeal to the more traditional artist.The material seems somewhat stiff, as though starched, but I think that is due to the nature of the untreated cotton. The stiff fabric should get more pliable after a few washes. The fact that the cotton fabric has had no chemical treatment is appealing. The neck and waist straps are simply tapes. The neck strap is adjustable and has a double plastic D-ring system, through which you have to thread the tape, and secure it by doubling back on itself… tricky to get it right and secure until you work it out. The waist tapes are simply tied behind one’s back, in a bow. The apron has matching beige taped edging. The stitching looks reasonably strong.There are several pockets. The main ones are located in the front, quite low down, and are quite spacious. Another good sized pocket is located on the chest. Two smaller pockets, low down, are less useful and limit the size of the objects one can store in them… maybe pens, pencils, tools etc. It is not a very long apron, and in fact it is relatively short, and hardly covers one’s knees. It would have been better if it were a couple of inches longer. Of course, the apron doesn’t have to be used only for art… viz: painting, pottery, sculpture etc, since it could also be used for cooking, carpentry, workshop, and anything messy. It is versatile. Personally, I used it for pottery, which is very messy and it got well caked with clay… but washed out perfectly and continued to look good. So… this is a simple practical apron which appeals because of its intrinsic simplicity.

Great material and well made I just found them rather small for adults.

Just what I wanted. Delivery was fast.

I am an artist, and used to always paint in an oversized t-shirt - my paint shirt. When I am painting, I don't really think about neatness, staying clean, etc. I am focused on the image coming to life on my canvas. I got this apron because it will make it easier to stay clean and paint on a whim....just pop the apron on over whatever I am wearing, and I don't have to change my clothes. Plus, paint has been known to bleed through my t-shirt before and stain whatever I am wearing underneath.I really like this apron because it is made of thick canvas, so I don't have to worry about paint bleeding through. It also has plenty of pockets, which is perfect for keeping my tools (like paper-towels, rags, brushes, etc.) handy.This apron is very well made, and very good quality. All of the stitching is flawless. It is about knee length on me (I'm 5'3"), and does a great job of protecting my clothes when I am creating. I am very happy with this apron, and quite honestly wondering why I never broke down and got one before.I think this is a great, well-made apron, and would make a nice gift for the artist in your life...or as an essential part of your own artist materials.
