Movies We Remember: Don Knotts

Great movies. Remind me of my childhood watching these with my parents.

Loads of fun. Arrived quickly and without incident.

Bought for son as a Christmas gift, he loves anything with Din Knotts in it!!!

Very funny

A decent set of movies featuring Don Knotts, comic actor legend. The movies vary in humor and quality, and are the usual fare for 1970's Disney. It's a bargain. I actually saw all the films offered in this set at the theatre, and they bring back some good memories. Some of the films are better than others, and perhaps are not up to the production standards of today's more aesthetically appealing family films from Disney and other studios. The Apple Dumpling Gang is a good family film, the Return of the Apple Dumpling Gang is a bit adult for a Disney film. Hot Lead and Cold Feet has some good moments in it, and GUS the field kicking donkey brings back some good memories of seeing the film in the theatre. Like I say, they're older films, so they're going to have some shortcomings. They're not exactly low budget, but they're not exactly the high gloss product that Disney cranks out today, though still visually respectable. But hey, for the price of one film you get four. If you're a Disney fan or grew up during the 70s and remember these films, then maybe splurge on a set. Enjoy.

The 1st Apple Dumpling Gang movie is FAR AND AWAY our favorite from this set. It completely uses the talents of Tim Conway and Don Knotts to their fullest potential. Not to mention the others in that cast - Harry Morgan, Bill Bixby, etc. We watched Gus 1st. We had never seen it before. For such an all star cast, the comic talents of Don & Tim were TOTALLY under utilized. The plot was typical Disney for that time period and the video effects were definitely not up to today's standards. It was ok and we might watch it again on a rainy day in the future, but so glad this was NOT the movie we "paid for" from this set. Likewise Hot Lead/Cold Feet is typical Disney. Quite a bit better than Gus, but not A.D.G. No Tim in this one and Don again was not used for what we watch Don Knotts for! The wholesome theme and values were refreshing. In our PC era now, my wife and I had to laugh that the gun fights - including the kids - would give heart palpitations to those outside our midwest/NRA area! :) Totally worth it for the package, but not so much for the non-A.D.G.'s in this boxed set.

Don Knott's should be introduced to all children. Just the fact you never hear him cuss or kill is reason enough, but he makes a situation go from bad to worse and back to good and keeps his head up (mostly) through it all. Being teamed up with Tim Conway is a huge plus just to have young one's of today see one of the best comedy duo's of all time,(IMO).

Not sure what I started out looking for but I stumbled across this dvd. As my kids had not yet seen the Apple Dumpling Gang, I figured this was a no brainer. The whole family enjoyed it and we got to spend quality time together. What more can you ask for?

Don Knotts is hilarious! This is entertainment the whole family can enjoy.
