Is the knife sharp enough that not much force is needed to cut vegetables and fruit? How does it fare with peels on carrots and peppers?

Both knife and peeler arrives very sharp - I would advise caution for the first couple of weeks use when using with the little ones.

Can this set be used by left handed child? Thank you

The items would be suitable for left handed use as there is no bias to either right or left.
