Tough, well made jacket, design could be improved
I've just bought my third!I bought my first jacket in "green" which is a camo pattern for wildlife photography. Large for me is just right as I'm broad shouldered and stocky but short, it allows me to wear a fleece or gilet underneath if it's cold.I then bought an army green medium for spring/summer/autumn days that were not cold as it's a slimmer fit, the arms and jacket body are shorter, the whole jacket feels less bulky and I only wear a T-shirt underneath.I've just bought a large in black for winter when I don't want to look like a poacher/hunter going for a walk in a camo jacket! For the price these are brilliant. Many walks in my area involve pushing your way through gorse and brambles and I don't like doing that in my expensive gore-tex mountain walking jackets. I don't remember ever feeling the brambles through these jackets! They really take punishment, so they would be good for hunting, fishing, paintball, air soft etc.Cheap enough to replace if wrecked. I've had my original for over a year, lots of bramble bushes later and no rips, tears or even snagged threads! The only wear is the draw cord on the waist came loose on one side and was easily repaired. There are negatives though. The design needs improving, the two on shoulder pockets are large enough for a big screen mobile phone but the zip opening is too small to make it easy to get a big mobile in and out.The on wrist pocket is just big enough for a bunch of car/house keys (like a ski pass holder). The two side pockets you can put your hands in are tall but narrow and not deep enough. They will just fit a winter glove each (when flat and vertical in the pocket) but anything will fall out if the pockets are left open. Don't put your mobile in there! There is a large map pocket on the lower back area with a zip at each end but you won't really be able to use that if you're wearing a rucksack. The outer material is waterproof but definitely not very or not at all breathable. Any sustained physical activity will lead to the inside feeling clammy. The fleece lining does help reduce this. While all of the pockets, if left open can be used for venting, there are also long under arm vents (without mesh). It doesn't have taped seems but in short heavy showers I've had no leaks. The medium sized jacket has a smaller hood which is a bit too small for my head (the peak of the hood doesn't come far enough forward) but as I bought this for dry days it's not too bad. The large size hood is roomy and you can wear a hat underneath that too. They do have re-enforced elbows. The material is relatively thick and stiff compared to other soft shell jackets I have but then these are tougher jackets.Folding down to put into a rucksack means they still take up quite a bit of space. In summary: a compromise. They are tough cheap jackets. Pockets need redesign and breathability isn't great but maybe that would push the price up too much.

Partner loves it
So due to weather, it hasnt fully been tested yet with the cold but his tried it on, it fits nice and is comfortable, the feel of the quality is pretty good and theres enough pockets there to afford a man bag lol. The quality looks and feels good. I suppose we will have to see how it does when the weather changes

It's an "OK" jacket
After reading the size chart and comments I ordered a "Large" though I'm a "Medium".The jacket arrived and it was indeed "Large". I wish I ordered "Medium" now.Luckily I plan to wear a fleece underneath so I can fill the whole jacket nicely. As for the jacket, it's not too bad. It's warm, loads of pockets, not brilliantly made but is OK for me.A few things did stick out...1. The hood is massive! Once again, not a problem as I will be wearing head gear underneath.2. Theres a 3-4 inch flap of cloth inside the hood that velcros upwards into the hood. If you're wearing a T-shirt it can rub on your neck. But, this bit of cloth makes sense once you roll up the hood. The cloth folds over and sticks to the back to keep the hood in place. The hood when rolled up comes up quiet high which I prefer as I want to keep the wind off my neck / chin.3. The front zipper when at the top folds into a bit of fleece. While the bit of fleece has the purpose of hiding the zipper, it does sometimes get in the way and is really annoying as I have to keep bending it down.4. The front pockets arent in the "Normal pocket" location. They are much higher up just below your breast. This isn't a problem for me as I much prefer this "Policeman hands tucked in vest" position.Overall the jacket is "OK". I only brought this jacket as I needed the camo pattern for hunting. If I had this jacket in a normal colour I don't think I would wear it daily as it's not up to my standards.

quite short
I like the jacket, has lost of pockets, looks well made, comfy, but feels very short at the front, it sits just below my belt so feels a too short for me. Maybe go a size larger?

What more can you expect!
I have yet to use the jacket as Amazon seems to think you should review products immediately after receiving them. However so far so good,Fit: I am 5'7'' athletic/stocky build, I ordered a medium and it fits absolutely fine with room for a base layer and fleece if required for additional warmth. A small would have probably fitted fine but previous reviews had stated that the jacket is a little short. I found this to be correct, so opted for the medium for the extra inch in length.Build: The quality of the jacket has actually surprised me. Given the price I wasn't expecting anything amazing and only expected it to last a couple of exercises but I'm optimistic that it may well out last some of my more expensive kit.The obvious weak point being the zips I am expecting them to fail quite early on but replacing them with better quality ones will be relatively inexpensive. As for its waterproof and windproof claims I cannot comment as of yet but don't expect gortex levels of protection for less than £30.The MTP style print is a little dark and quite bold compared to actual issued kit but will be fine for exercise. Conclusion: Over all, at this time I am extremely happy with the jacket. looks good, feels good and for £28 I have no complaints. The only reason i haven't given it 5 stars is because of the zips.Picture for colour comparison.
