A story of love, pain, and salvation on a cardboard roll.
She was lying in the yard, suffering from a gaping chest wound. My dog, safely out of reach, looked on guiltily. Rhoda the Rhode Island Red was still alive, but she was seemingly destined for a mercy-kill out of sight of the other birds. I gathered the wounded chicken in my arms, prepared to do what I had done so often in these situations, and walked toward the place where the deed would be done. But as a I looked at Rhoda, I thought about the good times we had had. She came to our farm as a two-day-old Tractor Supply chick, and had grown healthy and happy under the spring sun. She had found love in the form of Little Jerry the rooster, who had mysteriously appeared in the coop one night. Now she was a valuable and consistent laying hen, during the great Egg Rush of 2024. Maybe, I thought, this chicken can be saved after all. What happened next was not for the faint of heart, but I managed to sew up and bandage my tattered hen. But how would I protect the fragile sutures and medicated wounds from her inquisitive pecking? That's when I reached for my blue wrap, a constant in my chicken first aid box. I wound it tightly (but not too tight) around Rhoda, and hoped for the best.Days passed, and new wrappings were applied, and Rhoda improved. In time, the wrap was set aside and my restored hen returned to the loving embrace of Little Jerry and the rest of the flock. Rhoda is now back to her normal life, and has even experienced the joys of motherhood (actually I'm not sure if she realizes that, another hen hatched the egg for her). When the dog comes for your hen, reach for the blue wrap.

Buy The Real Thing--Vetrap Brand!
I have tried the off label crap wrap here on Amazon and it is definitely not the same as real Vetrap! I bought this for my dog who's had a spinal injury recently and he's still dragging his left foot a little and scraping the top of his foot on steps and other things. So I fashioned a wrap for him where I cut this 4" Vetrap into maybe 3 thinner strips, one of which I cut a little hole in for one of his toes. So I wrap it from the the top of his foot around his toe and to the back of his foot. Then I take a second strip and wrap up that first one in the normal way you would wrap and tape the ends just to make sure it's secure. Nothing else has worked like this and I took him for a little walk this morning and his bandage held up very well! Granted, I need to change it if it gets wet and muddy, but having a solution to protect the top of his foot while still allowing him to walk fairly well has made my day. I tried other kinds of booties that just didn't work, but the Vetrap works, it says in place and is helping to heal the top of his foot. This might be more expensive, but the cheap knock-offs suck to put it nicely.

Strong
Here is the TLDR: This vet wrap is very strong. In the picture I am using it to vet wrap an abscess. I must also add that the self-adhesive is also very nice. Now, into the details of why I think this vet wrap is perfect for use on animals (In this case a horse). The material that the vet wrap is made of is somewhat soft (compared to other vet wraps I've tried) which definitely helps with the comfort of the animal. The material is also breathable, which is a good thing with abscesses because before you wrap their hoof you soak it. Best of all, it stays put! When I tell you that this vet wrap is strong, I mean it.Overall, I would highly recommend this product.

Works good enough
These work great but I highly recommend using an e-collar or donut cuz your pet will rip it right off.
