Question 3

Is it unlocked and overclockable?

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel® Core™ i5-13400 Processor is not listed as an unlocked or overclockable processor in the official specifications provided by Intel on our ARK website (source below).

Overclocking typically applies to "K" series processors in the Intel lineup, such as the i5-13400K. These processors have an unlocked multiplier that allows users to overclock them. Since the i5-13400 does not have the "K" designation in its name and there is no mention of overclocking support in its specifications, it is reasonable to assume that it is not unlocked and overclockable.

If you are interested in overclocking, you might want to consider a different processor from Intel's lineup that is explicitly designed for overclocking, such as the "K" series processors.

Question 4

Hello, is it a 13th generation or 11th generation processor? In the description it mentions one of 11 generation

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel Core i5-13400 Processor is part of the 13th generation Intel processors, also known as Alder Lake. It's not an 11th generation processor. The confusion may arise from the naming convention used by Intel.

Intel's processor naming convention can be a bit tricky to understand. They use a combination of series numbers and generation numbers. In this case:

The "i5" part of the name signifies that it's a mid-range processor.
The "13400" is the series number within the 13th generation.
So, the Intel Core i5-13400 Processor belongs to the 13th generation (Alder Lake) of Intel processors, not the 11th generation.
