As someone who grew up with Nintendo consoles I can't stop admiring this set. There's just so much accuracy in this set. All the small details are just impressive. They even replicated the little bit of resistance towards the end when you fully put in the cartridge.The controller looks awesome and the cartridge is great. Love the hidden surprise!Adding the TV is great and the play feature and the interaction with the Mario figure from the other play sets was a nice surprise as well!

This is the first LEGO set I've bought as an adult and I had a blast putting this together and thinking about how my childhood self would have loved this. It's so satisfying to see everything come together in solid, well-designed forms. I didn't know about the easter egg and was genuinely delighted when I noticed it. My only complaint would be that the tube used for the controller cord is a magnet for dust and lint. I wish I knew the easiest way to clean it quickly.

A Great Lego set

This is the first Lego set I have ever put together. I bought it because I grew up in the (now) retro video game age and thought this would be a really cool item to display in my home office. What an incredible piece of nostalgia! It took me two mostly full days to complete, which was actually a real pleasure to do. At first, I just wanted to get to the end to see the final product in person, but as I got lost in the moment putting it together, I actually wanted to slow down because it was so therapeutic I didn't want it to end. I may have skipped a piece in the inside of the NES unit, as the sleeve that you slip the Mario disc into jams if you move it at all, but that is probably user error. As others have mentioned, the item was shipped with no outside packaging, so if you are ordering this as a collector's item, I wouldn't do it through Amazon. But if, like me, you just want a really cool piece of nostalgia, I recommend this 100%.

I've never purchased or owned a Lego set until now and let me tell you it's taking longer than I thought lol. I'm not done yet after 11 hours but I'm getting there. I'm working on it a little every day and having a blast. I'm in no big hurry. It's so relaxing. The NES was my first game console and this is such a cool version of it. The retro TV element is perfect with it. My family had one of those TVs when I was a kid. Brings back memories. I finished the NES, controller and game cart so far and I'm partially done with the TV. I can't wait to finish it and see Mario move on the screen. I have this set on top of my entertainment cabinet next to my Nintendo Switch. Seemed appropriate ;-). You can't go wrong with this set. And now I have the bug for it lol.
