Very efficient sharpener
The pencil shapener is very eficient, and saves hours of manual sharpening when you have young kids that either blunt or break their colouring pencils. It sharpens very quickly and has a good size wast drawer that does not have to be emptied every time you use the sharpener.Recommended.

Electric Pencil sharpener
Amazing sturdy machine. Sharpening pencils is so much better now. Whether for classroom, studio or own use you can’t go wrong.

Good quality for light use
I think this is one of a kind to merit 4 stars even though if it had competition I'd give it 3 stars. It is heavy enough to not need support on the desk, electric and fully automatic. We have purchased three. One broke down after about 3-4 years (we are not an accounting office, we only use these very occasionally). Unfortunately there are plastic bits inside mixed with metal bits, and in these cases typically the plastic bits break as the metal does not yield. The other one developed a fault where it makes loud noises as it's turning, as if something is out of centre, out of balance. But it still sharpens OK. The last one is quite new and so far has not developed a fault.

Excellent! Buy of the year
Having battled with probably 20 failing convential pencil sharpeners over the years and watched them mangle pencil wood and pencil lead alike, I forked out for this item.It is simply brilliant.Quick and slick. No more scrabbling around for useable pencils at homework time.It is small and discrete- tucked out of sight but within easy reach of a kitchen socket- always on hand at need- but I usually round up stray pencils once a week and sharpen 10 -15 in less than 5 minutes. Very satisfying. The only downside is that it is quite noisy- but since it sharpens a pencil in a few seconds than this is no great hardship. If you have one or more children of infant or primary school age, you really do need one of these. Buy one. It is worth every penny.31/01/2016Two years later and still going strong. It is a testament to the build quality that having dismantled it to remove the "rubber end" of the pencil that my 9 year old thought he would try to sharpen, it is still working as well as it ever did. An awesome product!

Great electric pencil sharpener!
I purchased this for my 6-year old granddaughter, who loves it and there is never a blunt pencil in the house now. Also great for artists. Smooth working and easy to empty. All around a terrific addition.

Dead as a dodo
It looks sturdy. It wasn't packed well and the plastic container for shavings was chipped in 2 places. I wouldn't have returned it for this reason, but - it was completely dead as a dodo. I am going to buy another one annd hope it turns up without crackes and working So - watch this space.

The best thing I bought on Amazon ever!
Perfect for a artist, I use this with my colouring pencils, perfect point ever time and has increased my productivity and made the annoying task of sharpening my pencils super fun and satisfying. This is a quality bit of kit, perfect for a professional artist. Worth every penny.

Worth paying little bit more
Excellent sharpener, have it for some time now and it works perfectly well. On the start I might push the pencils too hard so I think it was just sharpening and not stopping, but that might be just my impression.Only minus is the circumference as it is too tight for caran d'ashe luminance, but I have only one of those ;).I used it for pencils and pastel pencils, and it works well for pastels! I know I would be changing the cutter at some point because I use it for pastel pencils, but so far it works much longer than any other sharpener I used for pastels. Comparing to derwent super point, which was useless after sharpening about 10 pastel pencils, it is worth paying little bit more for the jakar sharpener.Overall very pleased with the purchase.
