I ordered this for my uncle, who has a painful ankle after many years of hiking and climbing. He feels it's supporting and very comfortable for this size 9 feet, and can fit inside a work boot.

This support does actually do a job but I don’t think this is the best on the market. Firstly, it fits a variety of (adult) leg sizes and has a choice of S or L. It wraps around the leg and has a separate piece to place at the front. The whole thing can be pulled together and tightened as necessary with the three straps that fasten through loops and Velcro into place. Also there is another Velcro fastening around the foot. There are stiff (metal) strips within it that keeps parts rigid. So it does the job that it’s required to do; in offering compression to this area of the body. But as a whole it feels ‘clunky’. It isn’t easy to effectively fit it in one place by yourself. Which is almost alright when you have help but a bit frustrating when you’re alone. Whilst the sowing is well finished and the materials are ok, its design feels basic. For example there is a join under the heel which could be uncomfortable and become an irritant. The Velcro parts wrap around a long way and are prone to sticking to the ‘sock’ before you have finished. I would say this would be fine in an emergency but for long term wear I think there are better designed supports. I’d look at alternatives first, and only get this if better alternatives are out of stock.
