Great book! Read it!I first come across Dr. Greenberg on Quora on my quest to find out more about toxic people. I loved her comments, she is always sensible, easy to understand and relatable. It was a no brainer to invest in her book, and god what a gem! The best book I've come across that explains everything in a way that is thorough and precise but still easy to understand. It is down to earth, makes the behavioural patterns easily recognisable and also great on practical advice. Can't recommend highly enough.

The author clearly has great experience and the book is very interesting, however, genetics is not really considered in her work. I’ve learned a lot from this book. When discussing “Borderline personalities” Ms Greenberg states that their condition mainly comes from a mothers (sometimes fathers) neglect. I’ve know families where the parents were very balanced attentive people and yet still had a borderline child. Some people clearly are predisposed to having a condition. This does not mean that they will, it’s simply that they require a much smaller trigger for it to become a condition or “adaptation” still a Superb book.

I bought it for myself to help me understand my friend and our relationship. The book is very well written and very practical with many real life examples. I'm not a native English speaker, but I had no difficulties understanding this book and it was truly enjoyable. Everything was explained and made sense. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this book as a paperback then purchased the kindle edition to find that the latter is a set of photographed pages of the book making it difficult to read and impossible to highlight. So yes buy the book, it is authoritative but no to kindle edition.

Well written. Knowledgeable understanding author; who helps all round “ getting it” in layman’s terms. Provides an excellent coverage of all aspects of a subject which I believe is more needed than society realise currently. Knowledge is power & understanding enables autonomy & moving on.

This is so easy to follow and understand, using everyday language. A must for those interested in personality disorders and adaptations.
