I’m sure the product works great, but I won’t be going that far with my ownership of the item. I wish they had advertised the fact that “Utopia Kitchen” is lazily engraved into the lid of the bin. It’s not aesthetically pleasing in placement either (it doesn’t align with the holes on the lid to even make it look purposeful). I was hoping for something more inconspicuous, but this isn’t it, unfortunately.

I bought this to use as a container to hold the food for my compost bin my city insists we use. Anything that’s food is supposed to go in it. The food does rot in this so maybe there’s something you’re supposed to do to get it to compost but my concerns were only that it would hold the food (so I’m not making twenty trips out to the bin each day) and that it wouldn’t smell badly and it does great on both counts. I’ve had the food mold in it and I don’t smell it until I remove the lid. I was using a plastic container (like a big Tupperware container) and it smelled so badly when I opened the lid I had to throw it away even after washing it. The handle on this comes in handy and it doesn’t smell badly. Great buy!

We keep wild animal food in this bucket. Very happy with it but wish I had purchased the larger size. This size is too small for what we need.

I don't like having compost on my counter, but this one is nice and clean looking and does not smell. I do not have to take out the compost every day- it can go a couple days without changing. I compost so much more thanks to this bin. My only complaint is that our eco bags sometimes don't stay on the outside rim. I use a clip now to attach to the handle, which helps keep the bag up.

Great size and the filters work very well to control odor.
