Swing weight was too much for me
I have played with the Pure Aero for 8 years and loved it. As a more advanced player now, I thought switching to the Pure Aero Plus might add a bit more pop to my game. While that was true when I was able to really get a ball squared up to the sweet spot, the increased swing weight of the Aero Plus was just too much for my elbow and shoulder. Note: I'm not referencing the actual weight of this racquet, which is identical to the regular Pure Aero. I'm specifically referencing the swing weight, which is a separate calculation which also takes into account the racquet's balance point. I was pretty shocked at how different it felt compared to the regular Pure Aero. That said, it's a truly exceptional racquet, it just wasn't right for me at age 51. This would be an ideal racquet for an advanced high schooler or young adult player, though, as you can really kill the ball with it and it's still got the spin characteristics that all Pure Aeros do.
