Perfect slices every time!
Perfect. The best bread slicer EVER! No faffing about, just cuts bread evenly, with a choice of thickness and a joy to use. We make our own bread and for us, this really is a game-changer! The bees knees of bread slicers!

Simple very effective gadget, robust design, easy to store
Fantastic piece of kit, makes slicing bread so simple and so safe down to the last slice. Such a simple gadget yet so effective, I’ve never been too good at cutting straight slices of bread or getting the thicknesses right….this gadget allows you to select three thicknesses of bread, it has a safety feature which means you can slice down to the last piece of bread without cutting your hand. It contains a small bread board and catches crumbs, I love that it’s very simple in design and easy to store. Nothing negative to say about it - very robust, made of steel so it’s never going to break,

Good, cuts bread well and simple to use
I have been using this now for some considerable time and here is what I have discovered. Watch a video on YouTube to see how it works as the one I had, had no instructions. There are a few minor issues: Cutting heavier home made breads regularly, does eventually deform the guides somewhat and they do not bend back. This does make the slices slightly uneven, but the Simpleslice is well made enough to cope with this and does not feel like it will break. Make sure you have a long bread Knife and it is not too serrated. Finally, I have found it is easier to slice almost all the way through the bread, then flip the loaf up to do the final cut upright to stop the bread breaking up, especially with bread a few days old.

Fab slicer
Love this slicer for self cut loaves etc, do need to invest in a slightly longer bread knife than the 1 in my knife set tho, the little bread board actually helps you slide the loaf if its longer to get it cut properly, just so easy to use.

5 stars to start but hasn't last 2 years.
I have used this since October 2023. Cutting a loaf about 1 a week. . All Started fine and the it deformed. See photo. So it's been used for 17 months and has cut about 80 -90 loaves. The cutting guides seem just to thin. And that's not a lot of bread really . For the money though I might be tempted to buy another and replace bit in about 15 months time again.

Total game changer!!
This bread slicer is more expensive than some of the other one. But it is very good quality,so I know it will last and a total game changer for slicing homemade bread. And now I have straight sliced bread. No more doorstep wedges. Very easy to use. Easy to clean and store. Thankyou.

Did not work for me
The guide did not work for me. My existing 10" blade knives were not long enough. I did not get the recommended Kuhn Rikon Colori knife. Its blade is serrated and pierced which makes more crumbs than a plain blade. It has a coating which does not wear as well as plain stainless steel. I did not like its aesthetics. Finding a long knife which is not too thick for the guide is a challenge because online descriptions do not include the thickness. I got a ProCook Professional X50 Chef Carving Knife which happily turned out to be perfect. The loaf was made from 100% wholemeal wheat flour with toasted mixed seeds and was dense, not fluffy. So a lot sturdier than the illustrated loaves. Using the guide as illustrated, the loaf is held in position by pressing it down and cutting sideways. When I tried that, the knife dragged in the loaf and tore the slice. Each slice was of varying thickness. Perhaps practice would have made them more even. I tried with the slots vertical, using a support at the side to hold the guide in position. No tearing but each slice was still of varying thickness So finally I reverted to cutting the loaf on a cutting board without the guide and got better results faster. Perhaps I should have persisted

Must have
A Game-Changer for Home Bread Makers! As someone new to bread making with a machine, slicing the loaf evenly was a real struggle—especially with softer, fresh-baked bread. I tried various slicing gadgets, including some vertical slicers, but none gave consistent results. Then I came across the SimpleSlice, and what a difference it has made! This is honestly one of the most useful kitchen tools I’ve bought. The design is minimalist but incredibly effective. It offers three adjustable slice widths, so I can get perfectly even slices every time—whether for toast or sandwiches. It also has a clever edge stopper and safety features that allow you to slice down to the last piece without worrying about your fingers. Made of sturdy steel, it feels built to last, and it doesn’t take up much space when stored. I do use a non-slip mat underneath just to keep it stable while cutting, but that’s a small thing. My only tiny wish is for a built-in crumb catcher—but it’s easy enough to clean up afterwards. All in all, this has made slicing homemade bread effortless and enjoyable. If you bake your own bread, don’t hesitate—this tool is a must-have!
