Fantastic product
The Chimney Sheep is a fantastic solution for preventing drafts and heat loss during the colder months. It fits snugly into the chimney, creating an effective barrier against cold air and reducing energy costs. The material is high-quality and designed to last, while the easy-to-use design makes installation and removal a breeze. I appreciate how it also helps keep out dust and debris. Overall, it's a smart investment for anyone looking to improve home insulation and comfort during winter!

Stops the drafts from the chimney, much better than the baloons
Works great in stopping the drafts from our chimneys. Used to use the balloons, but these are far superior.

So far, so good!
My chimney cavity is 8 inches so I bought the recommended 12 inch size. It was fairly easy to install. Took me 2 attempts to line it up correctly. It’s not a perfect fit as it’s larger than the hole but I’m hoping the extra padding at the sides will help with heat escaping over winter. The product itself seems sturdy enough but it’s hard to judge as I’ve only had it installed a few days - a stormy Autumn should be a good opportunity to test it out.I would say it’s good value for money as it’s a fairly cheap solution. Probably would buy again if I needed a replacement.

Brilliant!
I wish I knew about this item years ago! Fits perfectly, great value for money, stops the draft and keeps the heat in. Superb.

Difficult to install correctly
Hard to get into stay in centre of flue so that no gaps. Keeps moving to the side and leaving large gap. Stops big draughts but can still hear wind howling. Not so easy to install

Feeling a little sheepish we didn't get one sooner.
[Update after 6 years. Review below still stands. I think ours has become a little mishapen and doesn’t seal quite as well now, but that’s an observation rather than a criticism. Definitely worth considering handle extension or at least tying something to dangle from the handle. Otherwise you may end up like Bo-peep]I've only had this a couple of days, but as it's such a simple device, I feel it's probably OK to revewe. Maybe it will start to pong like wet sheep or cause some other issue - if it does, I'll update. I wouldn't want to pull the wool over your eyes. For it's intended purpose, it is simple and brilliant. We are kicking ourselves we haven't done this sooner. 16 years at this house complaining about drafts every winter - doh! I don't think I'd herd of them however until I Googled.I used the very handy sizing chart on the Chimney Sheep web-site to work out I needed this size (12" round) for my rectangular chimney. Took it out of the bag, screwed on the handle, rammed it in the chimney - done.We may need to get one of the handle extensions they sell as the handle, dangly thing is only just visible, but we'll probably just tie something to the handle. Handle seems fine - I doubt it will shear off.It has made a HUGE improvement - the cold draft is gone and the room is so much warmer (even coming down this morning before the heating was on (and it was <5 here this morning) it was bearable rather than the normal freezing.I have no idea whether this is better, worse or the same as alternatives, but it seems to work for us and I have no hesitation in recommending whole-heartedly to ewe (OK, second ewe pun, I better wind this up quick as I'm running out). For clarity, we bought and paid for this ourselves.

Draft excluder
Got absolutely beaten up by the draft sinking from the chimney flue. I bought the largest size and shoved it right up there. Its marginally too small in that you can feel the faintest draft at the edges but it's already made a world of difference.Room isn't magically warm as need to do the doors and windows but notable effect on chimney draft.Handle is about a foot long so there is no way you can forget about it before the you light a fire. Ours is behind a fire guard anyway so can't see it.It gets 4 stars for being marginally too small but it's a great piece of simple kit.Tbh could probably do with improvising something, but bought it now.
