Can I use a triac based motor speed controller to dial down the vacuum? Sometimes I don't need a lot of suction but I need it for hours and hours.

Rockler sells a quick connect handle for a 4" and 2 1/2" attachment that allows you to open the port partially and reduce the amount of suction...I would look into that first, before going to the speed controller option sir.....also, it only costs about $14

Will this work good if I'm grinding steel on a belt grinder?
