Dreamland Intelliheat Heated Fleecy King Size Dual Mattress Protector

I bought this for my father for Christmas. He hadn't asked for one and it was bit of a risky idea as I fully expected him to not want the fuss of changing something that was 'fine'. However, he was using an ancient electric blanket and I had started to worry about how safe it was after reading about the risks of old electric blankets that haven't been tested. I did quite a lot of reading up on reviews here on Amazon and elsewhere and, with some trepidation, decided to get this one. While the rest of the world was lounging around eating mince pies on Boxing day, I was stripping Dad's bed and fitting this... Actually, it was very easy to fit so my chores were short-lived. I had noted some comments about the material that goes around the mattress not being that strong, so I was careful but it didn't seem at great risk of tearing etc. I hadn't fully appreciated that it requires two electrical sockets, one for each side, but this was ok as Dad is only using one side anyway (the reason for wanting dual controls so he won't waste energy heating the other side).To cut a long story short, Dad has now been using it for over a month and he frequently says how delighted he is with it. Unprompted! He says that he almost finds himself looking forward to bedtime as it's so nice and warm. He particularly likes the fact that it heats up so quickly - his previous one had to be turned on 20 mins before he went up to bed, but now he just forgets about it until he's up there. He turns it on, cleans his teeth and hey presto, it's ready. He likes the idea that if it gets very cold he can also use a lower setting and leave it on all night, although I don't think he's used that yet.Dad also has poor circulation in his legs and complains of cold feet. While this doesn't change that, he does think it gives better heat coverage than his older one, so I interpret this to mean that it doesn't leave tons of space around the edge/bottom of the bed unheated.So now I'm feeling pretty happy that my risky Christmas present was a surprise hit! Brownie points all around...

UPDATE: Well I have not even had this blanket for 3 months before the left-hand-side of the blanket has stopped heating up. Imetec so far don't want to know as it is less than a year old (but I have now got the Customer Services Manager details from their Customer Service Department who did not want to help - and Amazon won't accept a return because it is more than a month old. Imetec say it is up to Amazon to sort out!! Will update this when I have hopefully resolved the situation but do keep this in mind if you are planning to buy from this Company.Amazing! This is the perfect electric blanket. It fits our kingsize bed perfectly, even the 'skirt' fits over our deep mattress. And wow, is it quick to heat up! Within 5 minutes the bed is very warm and toasty and it is great that it switches itself off after an hour if you want. The cables/connectors don't get in our way at all. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone. A great buy.

Winters around the corner and I thought it was time to upgrade our 5 year old sleepnight electric blanket I always hated that thing! it was an absolute pain to get on the bed with all those ropes and so uncomfortable to lie on. After a little research I settled on this one (despite some terrible amazon reviews.) Ordered and arrived the next day.Fitting it was a breeze, took literally 2 mins! It goes onto the mattress exactly how a fitted sheet would, put your fitted sheet over the top (optional) attach the controllers on both sides, plug them in and you're good to go.Controllers are very simple to use, there's one on each side of the bed, I tested my side by activating the rapid heat function (number 6) left it for 5 mins then got into bed and it was toasty warm all the way down to my feet! (i'm 6'1) was VERY impressed by the speed in which it heated up.Only had it a few days and mostly using setting 6 (switch on just a few mins before bed) but so far very impressed with this one!pros- Extremely easy to fit (its essentially a fitted sheet with heating elements)- Very thin, you literally don't even know its there,- Heats up VERY quickly on all settings (especially setting 6)- Remembers your heat setting from the previous time so most of the time all you need to do is switch it on.- Automatic 1hr timer activates when switched on (can also be changed to 9 hours)- Separate controls for both sides- Controls look nice, are easy to use, can be hidden under the bed and are button operated so make no noise- The plug in for the controls isn't bulky and located right at the side of the sheet so it never gets in the way whilst your sleepingCons- Quite expensive (but you get what you pay for!)- A quiet rotary dial for the heat setting would have been a great idea (no big deal)It gets 4 stars for 2 reasons,1. Only had it a few days so I'm unsure of it's reliability over time. This winter will be a good test!2. I have a memory foam mattress topper so not sure how fast it would heat up without that being on.As far as simplicity/features go it doesn't get much better than this!

Mantiene la cama cálida y cómoda, sin duda la mejor apuesta para el invierno, me ayuda a relajar los músculos y tener un sueño tranquilo y confortable.Ojalá Amazon España siguiera vendiéndolo a un precio asequible porque lo volvería a comprar, el mío ya no funciona pero tenía muchos años y mucho uso! Probé otras marcas y no se comparaban, los devolví todos porque no servían para nada.recomiendo

Sieht gut aus. Fühlt sich auch hochwertig an. Passt gerade auf 140 x 200 Matratze. Wird aber geliefert mit englischen Stecker!!! Habe jetzt GB - EU Adapter bekommen. Klappt jetzt.Nach einige Wochen in gebrauch:Super! Wird auf Stufe 6 wirklich innerhalb 2 min schön warm. Abschaltautomatik ist sehr beliebt bei meiner Frau.

Parfait mais il est tombé en panne au bout de 2 ans ! dommage !

Works really well, fits my kingsize bed doesn't move about and the top sheets stays in place better than without. Heats up very quickly so only have to put on about 5/10mins in advance.
