Not the cheapest…but certainly worth it
Ok, Japanese ceramic whetstones might produce a better result (as long as you have the time & skills to use them - what a hassle). This high quality knife sharpener is a great tool for maintaining the sharpness and effectiveness of our knives. Its ease of use, consistent sharpening angle, durable construction, and compact size, make it a perfect addition to our kitchen.

Does what it says on the tin
I use this on a set of relatively expensive knives and it has done a good job. Ok to use and set up. using water is a bit of a faff, but that is only a minor thing.

Really only suitable for Global knives
Global knives have a particular angle. It's sharpened my non-Global knives somewhat but not really suitable.

Works and easy to use
I have had this a couple of years now, did my monthly round of sharpening this morning and was again impressed by how easy this is to use. It works well on my fancy Global knives, and even the cheap ones are improved. Strongly recommend, which is more than I can say for the other half dozen sharpener I have tried!

Easy to use Which best Buy
I bought this as a Which Best Buy recommendation. Its easy to use for left and right handers (important in our house) and has improved our knives. Previously we used a different sharpener design but that left blades "ragged".It promises to be a good investment
