This item works great here in the United States but did not work at all in Europe at the hotels we stayed in.It's a very solid item made very well but Europe is a little different.

I recently purchased this portable door lock and I am extremely impressed. It is lightweight, small, and very easy to pack, making it perfect for travel or for added security in any location. This would be great for hotel rooms and when renting a vacation home.Installing the lock was a breeze, simply sliding it into place on the door where there is a gap between the locking latch and door. The lock securely holds the door closed, providing peace of mind and added security.I love how compact and easy to use this lock is, and I feel much safer knowing I can easily secure any inward-swinging door with it. It does not work with outward-swinging doors. It is also important to note that this lock will only work on doors with gaps between the locking latch and door. If you have a tight fitting door with no gaps, this lock may not be suitable for your needs.Overall, I highly recommend this portable door lock for anyone looking for added security on the go or at home. It is a great investment for peace of mind and easy to use in any situation.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The other portable door lock option (addalocks) seemed like they would work only for people trying to open a door and not people who are kicking a door so I chose this product. It seems more sturdy to me.Durability:I tested this lock in a room with windows (no bars) at ground level (first floor) with my sneakers and socks nearby so if it got stuck I could still get in and out. I watched the video on how to put it on and take it off and had my brother on the other side try to come in. After he unlocked the door, he could not come in. He gave a kick and still couldn't. We didn't use too much force for fear of getting it stuck or cracking stuff, but it has proven to be good enough for basic use for me.I had difficulty inserting it between the plate area and trying to close the door while keeping it in place. My door didn't leave a lot of space there but I got it to work.The small screw to hold the door was a little too short for me. I guess the thickness of the sides of my doors is past standard doors. The little wing clamping to the sides of my doors is definitely very strong and would leave big indents even with the plastic cover, but luckily my doors are black so it's not that obvious.

If you want to keep someone out of your bedroom at night I Highly recommend this!!! I got tired of my niece coming into my bedroom at night because she wakes me out of my sleep I share a room her sister and gets into my things when I spend the night! I had just brought a lock for the door and she tamper with that so that have to be tightened! I installed this until I can woke on the door knob and this and about 3 am she tired to get to my room and she couldn’t! So I highly recommend this if you got a niece or nephew or anyone who keeps wanting to come in your room while you sleep at night this will keep them out!!!

My son recently started escaping from our windows and front door. It had been a very terrifying experience for us since he is only 3. He shows some mild signs of being on the Autism Spectrum, but we are still working with an early interventionist to get a diagnosis. The police brought my son home, Thank God, one morning around 6am he had left the apartment while we were sleeping. I found this device that same day on Amazon and slept on the couch with a 150 pd coffee table parked in front of the door while I waited for it to show up. All I can say is wow! Not only has this device kept my little boy safe but it has given me so much peace of mind! The best part is it doubles as a security measure to keep intruders out! I have never been happier with a child safety product than this one! Thank you for keeping my son safe!

This didn't work for me because it requires a substantial space between the door itself and the door frame, at least 1/8 inches or more. My door's gap was much too small to allow this item to fit.

Nice little lock, it works and it's very easy to use. Not the fastest to put on and take off though.
