Works on CAT 5 screened cable-50m
I initially installed these unit on a 3 metre CAT 5 patch lead to test the units. At first I had a few issues getting the units to display video reliably but after pressing the reset button on the transmit and receiving unit a couple of times every thing was fine. I then ran just under 50m of CAT 5 screened cable and 50m of CAT 6 screened cable from my sky box to the TV in my office. I connected the CAT 5 screened cable expecting the units not to work as the cable was not to specification but it worked perfectly. The unit has been working on the CAT 5 cable for two days now with a perfect picture and IR remote operation. Still haven't tested the units on the CAT 6 cable but I would expect it to work. If you are going to use CAT 6 cable be forewarned that the connectors are not the same as the CAT 5 connectors as the conductors are of a heavier gauge of wire.UPDATE-Tested on 50m CAT 6 cable with Sky box, worked well. Tested CAT 6 cable again but with a 1080i and 1080p signal from a WD media player, neither worked but the 720 mode worker fine. The Sky box worked in 720 and 1080i modes not sure why either is a discrepancy.

Great for the price
I use it to broadcast AV over ethernet.A distance of around 30m, works with no problem and no drop outs.I tried others which claimed to work, but didn't.Note this is a genetic model, there are many that may have better pictures, but are the same device just badged differently. I know... I ordered a few to try and test, they all came it the same sized box, same internal setup in the box, only a different sticker!Great value, would definitely buy again if needed another.

Good but could be better!!
They Work well!Sending my Xbox One to my summer house from the AV cabinet about 25mWorks fine at 720p however the minute the Xbox is set to 1080p I get audio crackling and the picture drops out every 30 seconds or so.I am using 100% copper Ethernet cable which conforms to CAT6 standards. I am an IT professional so I know what I am doing but cannot get them to run at 1080p.I even tried it with a 2m cable and still get the dropout when set to 1080p.. Maybe I just have slightly faulty units I will see how they go for a while.

The easiest way to get quality HDMI by external cabling.
For ages I have been trying to find a way to extend HDMI to my kitchen without destroying half the house first. As everyone knows; the HDMI plugs are pre-fitted and require an enormous hole to accommodate them; also even the mini HDMI plugs are not supplied on suitable outdoor cable. Then I found these!! Together with 15 metres of high quality Cat 6a Professional Gold cable I read the instructions and fitted it within an hour. A 12mm hole was all that was required - well within the capacity of my Cordless drill. All connected up and powered up. Hey Presto we have a beautiful picture on the "Sovos" in the kitchen; also The Virgin remote works all functions as if in the living room.I really cannot praise this system highly enough. Post Script I also tried this initially with a 20 metre cable and the results were the same - that should be enough for even the most demanding requirements.

Avoid, PSU fault
Avoid, keep in mind you have to use 5v PSU on both - transmitter and receiver. I bought it over a month ago, and as always, tested when arrived. Worked fine with 30m of cat6 cables.Yesterday I went to my client to install CCTV system and installed it to split signal between 2 monitors. 20m same cat6 cables I tested with, but the monitor over cat6 didn't work. Tested both PSU with multimeter and both 5v output, but when loaded voltage dropped to 3v. Waisted 2h to figure out what was wrong, and still need to go back with new transmitter.By the way both PSU were faulty.

Great Item
This item arrived today and I immediately set about installing it. I know it says it requires CAT6 but I decided to try it with an existing run of unshielded CAT5.(No point in running new cable) The run was about 20 meters and it worked perfectly first time. I am using it to run Sky Q to another TV (MagicEye replacement). It does require power at either end but that's a small price to pay to eliminate the need for a Sky Q Mini and the extra monthly cost that entails.

Awesomeness in a cardboard box!!!
Bought it to connect telly in another room, link through feature doesn't down scale the original source like others do. Picture in other room is perfect rescaling to exact picture size. I've run a 25 meter cable but used a full 50 meters to test and no loss of quality. I did buy power line links originally but they are not compatible with each other (my fault for not reading throughly).Nice and small unit easy to connect and hide away out of sight, plenty of cable for remote eye tx/rx. Other than my stupidity I cannot fault it. Thinking of getting another if truth be told...

Used this item several times for linking up to tv ...
Used this item several times for linking up to tv monitors and keep getting occasional drop outs. I have had a tech run some tests and it does give out a weak signal. Will be returning all that I have for a refund.
