Bristol Novelty BA950 Magnifying Glass Headband, Black, One Size

This is so much better as a general magnifying glass, it has such a powerful lens that I could use it for delousing my kids' hair, without my glasses on.

I purchased this item for use as part of a fancy dress costume. Considering how cheap it is I am well satisfied and my version of Mr. Holmes will be using this quite often this Christmas.The glass itself is fairly weighty in the hand and magnifies the studied subject matter up to about three times its size. My one concern about this item is that the handle is made out of plastic and careful use of the glass is therefore advised. For this reason, I would think twice about buying this for young children as it would be unlikely to survive rough handling or being dropped for long.For those wanting it as a prop, a permanent fixture or as an occasional aid to sit in the draw, however, this is excellent.

The magnifier is a nice toy. However, the finish is not great. Furthermore, we received a bag that was open with a broken item. The missing piece was not on the bag thus it was broken before packing it.

The item itself is as you would expect it to be, based on the photos and the description of the item. Unfortunately, the packaging was very poor (almost non existent, but then at that price it would be foolish to expect anything else), and when posted through the letterbox, the plastic frame surrounding the glass shattered and the item is unusable.

Not great but not bad as accessory for a detective costume. A bit heavy though!

The first glass was damaged. We told Amazon and received another one which is fine. So we are happy with it
