I was re-doing my home theater setup and decided, after spending thousands of dollars on the equipment, I should 'grow up' about connections. So I got some good Nakamichi banana plugs and purchased this SOMELINE Ferrule Crimping tool as a splurge. I'd seen some online YouTube videos that used ferrules and a crimper and thought, what the hell, for $30 I'll give it a try. It turned out to be trivial (actually it was even kind of fun) to use and made OUTSTANDING connections. Given that the wires are completely sealed in the ferrules and wire coatings there won't be any oxidation even over the long term. Moreover, I know it's kind of silly, but it gave my system the polished look of a professional installation which I have to admit is both pleasing to the eye and very functional. Is this tool necessary to make good audio connections? No. But it's well worth the cost to make the step up from DYI to professional standards here. One note: I almost gave it 4 stars because it has a lot of ferrule options but not that many of the specific one that I wanted to use for my Nakamichi banana plugs. But, in thinking it over, the fact that it gave me three lengths of the 14 gauge ferrules to choose from should actually be a "+" and not a "-". Given that 1) there were plenty for my project and 2) I couldn't find them anywhere else, this versatility has to fall on the 'pro' side of the pro/con equation.

These are great for car and home electrical work. The included crimping tool is easy to use. This kit is great for the price. I have used these while adding a soft start kit on my home A/C unit as well as installing an amp and sub in my car. These are great for keeping stranded wire ends clean, safe, and connected well.

At the price, this exceeded my expectations. The tool is decently made, the case is nice, and the selection and quantity of ferrules is great for doing some quick fixes. I can’t say whether it would work as a long-term tool, but if you need to get a few of these installed in a hurry, and you want something that does it right, this one does well.

This kit is nicer than I expected. The assortment of ferrules seems to be well thought out and is sorted and contained very efficiently. The ferrules in this kit are contained in compartments at the bottom of the case, and the crimping tool has its own compartment in a removable tray at the top. My only complaint is that the plastic grip on the crimping tool's handle pops off on the final squeeze and I have to keep pushing it back on. Maybe I'll glue it on with epoxy.

I don't often trust tools with odd brand names, but I gave SOMELINE a chance and I'm happy I did! This tool allowed me to make my own beautiful speaker wires at home. Super easy and satisfying to use, all compact in its own little carying case. Great value for the money considering the apparent quality of the whole thing. The ferrules were there to stay and the sound through them is A+. Already looking at other tools offered by SOMELINE and have my eyes on a few!

**UPDATE** Be sure to note when ordering: If you change the options on "sizes", it changes the model you receive. I needed the 6A6 (Hexoganal) model but in changing option selections, I inadvertently ordered the 104A (rectangular) version. I've been contemplating purchasing a termination tool like this for some time, now. In my opinion, it's a really good way to step up your wiring game and make installations clean and neat. Initially impressions as of unboxing is that its a very comprehensive collection of terminations and the tool itself feels sound and operates smoothly. The case it comes with has a removable tray for the tool with the terminations stored underneath. Some small parts of the plastic around the tool were broken on arrival, but this has no effect on the function of the case or the tool so hopefully it's just a fluke. I will update once I get a chance to put it to work.

The other UAE review says lots of "things" are missing. Actually nothing is missing. It just looks like it as the trays on the top level are empty. You are supposed to open the bags of the one's you use frequently (located under that tray) and put them in those empty bays for easy access. Everything is sealed and as it should be and as advertised. And wow - absolutely amazing quality at a ridiculously cheap price. Fantastic buy
