It Works, Easy to Use, Great for the Environment and Excellent Customer Service
I bought the water filter for an upcoming trip involving a lot of trekking and potential limited water supplies. I am also conscious of cutting down on plastic waste. The filter is very easy to set up, clean (with no chemicals, unless you want to use vinegar), back flush and store away. The triple filter, micron filtration and sheer volume prior to changing parts really sets this filter above it's competitors. It's small and lightweight, easy to use and has a pretty decent steady flow rate, without requiring too much effort. It doesn't require you to lie down flat on wet ground, trying to suck water through a little straw either. The various parts are easy to replace if required and are cheap compared to competitors as well as lasting a lot longer. I'm buying a spare carbon filter as that "only" lasts for 2,000 litres vs. the other filters which seem to last forever! I tried to get hold of some spare hoses as well, but the UK Amazon store were out of stock. I contacted the company directly who could not have been more helpful and accommodating - the customer service was great and something that seems to have gone missing from most retailers these days, so kudos to these guys!Their website also has useful tips on how to use the product and how to stop the parts freezing in sub-zero temperatures (tip: shake the filters out as much as possible and then keep them close to your body in your bag, or in your coat).I did a lot of research on the best water filter beforehand and this won hands down with bloggers and trekkers and has so far lived up to the hype.If I was to be overly critical, the only minor issue I can find is that the hoses give the water a very slight rubbery taste, but I'm sure this will wear off with time and I'm willing to live with it if it gives me clean, fresh water! Also the taste is not as strong as with my camelbak.

Fantastic bit of kit, even better after sales!
I have owned and used a number of different filters from various manufacturers including Katadyn, Sawyer, and General Ecology and this beats them all in the important (to me) features, firstly the filtration size is one of the smallest on the market and with three stages of filtration this gives peace of mind in use it's small, lightweight but sturdy with a comparable flow rate to the Katadyn Vario but at half the size and weight, There is nice attention to detail with this unit the clip for the inlet hose has one large 'tooth' that provided a secure hold on a threaded water bottle neck and a hydration bladder, it also has a protective sleeve that doubles as a cup and when fitted for travel would give storage room for a few small survival essentials (purification tablets, waterproof matches and some tea bags)The other benefit of this unit is each filter can be field serviced (to a degree) and replaced independently if needed, the new filters for my Katadyn are £45 that is the same price as the set of three for this unit but as you would normally only replace 1 of the 3 at a time then the upkeep of this unit is less painful for the pocket.I used this filter on reservoir water during heavy rain so it was exceptionally cloudy with silt but the water came out clear and sweet.I can also rate this companies after sales support as during a recent cold spell I was negligent with the filter and it froze solid, as this is something that is warned against in the instructions in every filter I have owned (water expands on freezing damaging the filters from within) I contacted the email address supplied with the product to ask if I should replace the whole unit or just the filters, I had a response the same day that I would only need to replace filters and that they would give me a discount and even provided three Amazon links for the correct filters.Amazing product even better customer care, buy it you won't regret it

Great!
Bought this as hiking/camping filter for the family, and as prepping emergency filter unit. Had to wait for so a little over a month since it was sold out, but a really excellent product and worth the wait. Have not tried it in really dirty water or anything, and I'm hoping I never have to - but here's what I likeVery sturdy, high-quality build - I'll admit I was expecting it to be more "plasticky" but is very solid. I also like the case/cover it comes with, makes it easy to just throw in a bag. Price/performance ratio unbeatable - was expecting to have to settle for lower filtration performance as I didn't want to splash out on the more expensive products / brands, but fortunately I discovered this product in time. Took the opportunity to buy some replacement filters, particularly the carbon filter I'll expect to use a few of (they last 2000 l acc to specs, whereas the UFs last 100000 l...). Could potentially backflush and clean the carbon filter units but I'm not taking any chances, at least not when the replacement filters are a reasonable £15.

excellent but needs maintenance
Quite a useful device. Used it on a trek in Africa where it kept me alive and saved me from the chlorine tablets. Water tastes good and the device is very light and easy to carry around. The filtration rate is good when the filter is clean, i liter very ~2-3 min but it depends. However, I found the pre-filter sensitive to clogging by fine sediment particles or slit which drastically reduces the filtration rate and is not very easy to clean while on the field. it keeps operating though, just slowly. That shouldn't be a problem with cleaner stream-water.I warmly recommend this device. probably good to stretch the fact that it needs to be maintained clean and it is worth taking brushes and oil with you to keep it running smoothly.
