Awesome
Awesome waffle maker. I got the digital one (single waffle maker). It looks nice and feels pretty sturdy. I like the countdown timer as well. The waffles cook perfectly & I appreciate that there are shade settings. Nonstick works great and the price is really on point especially when it is on sale. Overall very easy to use, fairly easy to clean, and makes great Belgian waffles! Get it.

waffles are 13/4 inches thick, perfect, im glad I picked this one.
I have a set of all-clad 5 ply cookware and was going to buy the all-clad waffle Iron but everyone I read said 1 inch thick. I had a cheaper one before that said 1 inch and was not too happy their 1 inch waffle was no thicker than a regular frozen waffle. I was even gonna buy a restaurant one because it might have been thicker but they too said 1 inch. UNTIL I SAW THIS> 1.4 inch waffle on the CRUX. IM telling you I filled it up with batter and they measured 1 3/4 inches and came out perfect brownish tan both sides just how I remember from back in the day in a restaurant. My very first try on setting 5 and it was perfect. Im so glad I bought this. I think this was a model version or something because the box was opened, not taped or sealed at all and no warranty card or any of the things you get with a kitchen item. I figured I would try it before I sent it back. Guess what? Im keeping it. YES they are that perfect and thick! One thing I found out on my own was when we plugged it in to try it before putting in batter, it wasnt counting down. I thought yup its broke...But then she said maybe you have to put in batter. i said nah, its not ascale. SHE WAS RIGHT. It detects the batter via temp drop and then it will count down, this way it stays hot, at the right temp so its always ready...well for 30 minutes anyway thenit will stop so you dont mistakenly leave it on all day. ITS GREAT, Michael

Just like others have said.. THIS IS THE ONE!
Shopped around before making a decision, I viewed nearly 100 different manufacturers and styles. I chose this one and I'm VERY happy with it. I've only used it once and I'm dialing-in the right settings but it makes fantastic, thick Belgian waffles! They are 6-3/4" diameter and nearly 1-1/2" thick! A few points worth mentioning: - It does NOT come with a measuring cup nor does the description indicate this! Instructions say to use 3/4 cup but I found 1 cup fills out better with my recipe. - Makes true Belgian-sized waffles. They are very thick and it's going to take practice to get them perfect. - I chose the single (one at a time) waffle maker. It has a traditional black non-stick coating and not the copper look like the 2-up model. Definitely not a deal breaker and a light coating of vegetable oil provided stick-free waffles. -I also purchased "SURDOCA Silicone Pastry Basting Brush" to apply the vegetable oil and they worked well. Highly recommended. - Don't get carried away with the vegetable oil or your waffles will taste like fried food. I plan on try other oils and evaluating the results. - Making waffles produces lots of steam and some of it condenses inside the handle. When you rotate it back, a little moisture drips out of the handle onto the control panel. This is a very minor inconvenience and I simply wipe it with a paper towel. - I use Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix and add a teaspoon of vanilla to the mix! Produces waffles just like the restaurant ones. All in all I am extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this product.

Broke within 30 days
I'm modifying my original review as the power button broke within 30 days. I'm not surprised, as it is the cheapest feeling power button I have ever encountered. Original review below: Overall: I have this silly expectation that appliances should get better over time as they work out the kinks, but that has not been my experience with double waffle makers over the last 15 years. This is the 4th one I've owned and it is not as good as the first one I owned (same for the last 2). When this one breaks, and I am not confident it will last long, I will not replace it with the same model. I bought the extended warranty on this and 1 month into ownership I am expecting to use it well before the 3 year term is up. Pros: Makes 2 waffles at the same time, they are the right size and shape for a Belgian waffle, the flip mechanism doesn't put too much strain on the latching mechanism and you can flip the waffles while an overly full waffle is being cooked, the non-stick surface is reasonably non-stick and a little cooking spray keeps the waffles from sticking, it has an audible beep to let you know when the waffles are ready. Cons: It doesn't lay flat on either side 1 or side 2, so the waffle batter will drain to one side and far too much of it drains out (this is exacerbated if you are only making one waffle, the pressure of two waffles can sort of make it stick at level if you work at it), the power button got stuck in the on position once and we had to wait for it to cool to be able to switch it off, and the button and knob are the absolute cheapest ones they could find (I don't think I have ever used a knob or button in a consumer product that felt cheaper), the temperature sensor inexplicably changed its scale about 2 weeks into ownership by about 30%.

The best!!! A workhorse
This is literally the best waffle iron I have ever used. This is a workhorse. I ordered this and cooked about 80 waffles within a 45 minute period for my children’s class holiday party each waffle came out perfect every single time. In addition there is a perfect crust with a lovely pillowy center in each waffle. Clean up is so easy and I am loving how I don’t have to wash things down or wash anything in the dishwasher. In addition I don’t have to use any cooking oil or butter on the iron. It is completely nonstick. If you’re looking for a waffle iron I would recommend purchasing this one. It also stores very conveniently in terms of its size. This produces beautifully golden brown full-size thick Belgian waffles, two at a time.

Great buy! The Thicker the bette!!
I waited until this product went on sale because I already had a waffle maker which I loved but it was time for a new one. Plus the next time I have a gathering and chicken and waffles is on the menu I can pull it out and make more for larger parties. The product looks like it does in the picture except you don’t know the depth of the waffle plates. My older one makes very nice and thick Belgian waffles. This one they are thinner. My kids hated it. It makes great waffles but once you have been making thick waffles for so long its hard to go to a smaller waffle. I will keep it and use it for when I make desserts with my waffles. It is easy to clean. No spray is needed to cook the waffles. I hope they make this where the waffle plates are thicker/depth so we can get real thick waffles. The thicker the better ..

Best waffle maker on the market
Works exceptionally well with a built-in timer that allows you to cook waffles for more, or less time. It works for pretty much anything too, from potatoes to ground meats for cooking. My waffles come out perfect every time, and it is very sturdy feeling. The only thing I wish they would do is make the cable plug a bit longer. UPDATE: So I think it's been 3 years since I purchased. I can't express with words how well this thing works and how I have practically integrated it regularly into my life. I love this thing. Get it. It will last you forever.

This Baby is FAST! I LOVE mine!
I refuse to write a review for a product like this right out of the box. I want to make sure whether I give something a good review or bad? I'm confident I put it through it's rigors. I've had mine almost a year and a half now and I can confidently say that I absolutely LOVE it. In years past, some family members had to eat in shifts because I couldn't make the Waffles fast enough! Now with my Double Rotating Waffle Maker by CRUX, I can practically sit everybody down at once. I think this site might say that you can make 8 Waffles in 10 minutes, I'm not too sure about that, but I'm pretty sure I can whip out 8 in 15 minutes. They start coming out faster the more you make. At least in my case it seems that way. The speed also depends on how crispy you want yours? We like our to have a little bit of crunch on the outside. It cleans up nicely as long as you keep it oiled. I brush mine lightly with vegetable oil before I put the next batch of batter in. It would always clean up in a snap if I wasn't adding exotic ingredients to my Waffles. We give family and friends the choice of Pecans, Chocolate Chips and Coconut! One Nephew said he can't wait to have Uncle Matt's "Candy Bar" Waffles again! Though I've only used it 10 to 15 times since my purchase. When we do break it out, it's usually during the Holidays, Vacation or on special occasions. And with that being the case, I've always got a crowd sipping their coffee and trying to decide how the want their Waffle or Waffles! I don't care much for the recipe that came with my unit, but I've always been partial to a recipe of my own where I whip the Egg Whites to make lighter fluffier Waffles. I suggest you pick out your own favorite recipe in advance. I will pass on a couple tricks of the trade though. DO NOT use the Spray Can Oils on this or ANY Non-Stick Appliances or Pans. The Chemical Reaction is terrible for you and weakens the Non-Stick Coatings! You also don't want to use any Metal Utensils on this unit. We like to use Chop Sticks or the Bamboo Tongs that we take the bread out of the toaster with. Enjoy! Uncle Matt
