I wasn't sure these would work for my cat since they're a generic brand, but she seems to like them. The smell isn't too strong but is definitely detectable in a smaller area. It is kind of a citrusy clean scent. Definitely seems to help some with her anxiety. I wouldn't call these a miracle worker but some of her anxious behaviors seem to have decreased and she tends to walk over pretty often to the part of the wall where the plug-in is located. Will probably buy refills since it seems to help.

One of my cats became anxious after a visitor came in my house, including his area. These diffusers have helped him relax and feel at home again. Very effective and a good value. Highly recommend!

I bought this for my cat who began to have urinary issues because of her lifelong struggle with anxiety. I set the diffuser up where it is nearby her litterbox, but also close to where she drinks and eats meals, to ensure all of her essential spots were as comfortable as possible, and there has been a notable difference in her demeanor, and her urinary habits/health. I was worried about the smell from the diffuser, since many people complained, and I'm not a fan of strong scents, but honestly it was just fine. I did notice it right away, but the room it's in is big enough that it doesn't bother me at all. Another thing I noticed before my purchase was complaints that it didn't last long enough, but that wasn't an issue for me either. There's a button on the front that turns it off, and I just only left it on during the day, because it's when people are walking around that my cat gets nervous. But I turned it off at night, and when we left the house, because I know she's fine during those times. I was actually able to use it effectively for almost two months. Overall, I think it was a very worthwhile purchase.

I ordered the product to calm my cats, after one of them passed away suddenly last month due to a complication of respiratory infection, the 2 cats left at home were anxious and stressed from the trauma of losing their friend, so I ordered it for them to calm down.After a few minutes that the product was connected to the power outlet, it started to emit a smell of burnt plastic, the red light that indicates that it is on went out and the device seemed to melt inside the outlet. I immediately unplugged it and let it cool down, after a day I tried to plug it in again and this time the red light didn't come on at all, as if the electrical wires in the device had melted.I tried with the second device (I ordered a double pack) and it was the same story there as well.Now none of the products work and I'm stuck with a refill but without the device that spreads the smell in the space.Very disappointing. I made sure to order the original product to avoid such incidents,

Since I am highly sensitive to smells, I was worried this would have a weird, awful smell but was pleasantly surprised that this gives off an uplifting type of essential oils scent.I have used it off and on around my cats since they were having trouble dealing with a new kitten in the home, and I think it does help. The only issue I really have with it is that it goes quickly! So I cannot keep this plugged in all the time, like I'd prefer, and have to use it more strategically.I don't see a super dramatic change in behavior, however, it is true everyone is getting along much better since utilizing this diffuser, and I think it is genuinely helping.For the price and how quickly it diffuses, I may run in to having to decide on this or the spray stuff instead.My friend who came in the house said it smelled like a man's cologne. I think it smells more like a mix of essential oils. It can be very strong though, so my only wish is that this could be made with different settings, (i.e. 1, 2, 3 dispensing amt), kind-of like some of the plug in air fresheners have. That would be extremely helpful, and would make the product last a bit longer as well (read: more budget friendly!) Still, I'd recommend this to anyone with anxious kitties in the home, it's definitely worth trying out.

Moving into a new home can be very stressful for a cat. I purchased these calming diffusers and plugged them in two days before bringing my kitty to her new home “with two new dogs”! Obviously hard for a cat with or without calming diffusers! But after being plugged in for a week I thought I was in the clear. I was wrong, I noticed a big change in my cat’s attitude towards the dogs she was extremely irritated and didn’t want to come out of hiding. Plugged the calming diffusers back in and within a day she was not as on edge. Three weeks and the diffuser are about half full so they last a long time and they don’t have a strong smell. A pleasant lavender scent! That doesn’t bother the cat or dogs! I would definitely recommend trying them out, don’t expect a miracle 😉 but the calming diffusers definitely make a difference.

Got this to help with one of our cats being overly territorial. Seemed to work ok at first, but then one of the diffusers stopped working. There is a blue light on them that indicates when they are on. We plugged both in two separate areas when we received them, and noticed about a week later the light was off on one. We moved it to another spot, and the light still didn't come on so we know it's not our outlets (as both we tried are working for other things).Additionally, we moved the working on to the area the broken one was in since it's more central. When we did, we compared the liquid levels and notice a marked difference in the liquid, showing the broken one had stopped working long before, and that it isn't just the light that's broken.I guess we have another refill for the working diffuser, but we really would have liked two working diffusers.
