Would the shoulder strap cope if I was to clip the parts bag and the grubber onto it?

I would say so! As it is a well made heavy duty strap, and I do carry quite a lot of weight in it as well and have had no problems! Even the metal clasps are over engineered for the size of the bag. So you should have no problem with adding more!
