Second time ordering, this is just so effective.
I was in a very awful multiple-rollover car accident. Needless to say, I had some issues with the grip of one hand. I found these hand exercisers quite by accident and read the reviews listed here. There were a lot of positive things said, so I took a chance and placed an order. In the interest of transparency, I already own the green (squishy as all get out) egg, the blue (medium compression) egg and the purple (when you've worked up to it, it's really great for your dexterity) egg. Unfortunately, I misplaced my original green egg and was going on a very long, very active vacation. I decided I couldn't leave without at least one egg, and the green was it.These can be cooled in the refrigerator or warmed gently in a cup of warm water. They don't stain anything or stick to your skin. The shape is very organic, fitting into the cup of your palm and fingers quite nicely. The green egg is great for my formerly broken fingers and working the stiffness out of the fingers and the palm of my hand.If you were active and then had an accident that laid you up for a bit, leaving behind some issues with curling your fingers or gripping, give this one a try, and perhaps even the blue one for a challenge. There's an even less firm egg available, but I've never used that one, so I cannot tell how that might be, but I can highly recommend the green hand exerciser as a great travel item as well as something you keep in your purse, backpack, or desk and use when you need it.

Very Nice to Squeeze; Odd Plastic Smell
First of all, these are great. I really love them so far. But I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the bad smell. The materials used to make these eggs have a bad/toxic smell. I have only had them for a day and the smell is still potent, so I am hoping it will go away soon. It may just need more time to air out. It would be nice if manufacturers looked for more ways to make things without bad smelling chemicals or materials like this. It also makes you wonder how safe it is for the skin or to breathe, etc. (Not a big deal for these small little eggs and nothing to be too concerned about if you are considering these, but just wanted to mention that in general.)Other than that, these are awesome! The green and blue are perfect. For those that are wondering what level to get: I am a female in my thirties with average/weaker strength, and I can easily squeeze the green to about 1/2 its girth. The blue is more firm, so I can comfortably squeeze down to about 1/4 of its girth, and with more effort I can get that down to 1/2. They are so nice to squeeze and they really do feel like soft gum drops. And who doesn't like squeezing gum drops? ;) I purchased these after feeling more pain in my arms and hands since I have been a programmer for several years. This should help differ my mouse clicking/typing movements enough to keep the other muscles in my arms and hands exercised as well. I have read that these exercises really help.

Perfect for occupational therapy exercises.
I've developed arthritis in my left wrist and thumb and my occupational therapist, who uses this green egg in her practice with her patients, advised that I have my own to do exercises at home. I am an amateur pianist and the thought that the arthritis could interfere with my ability to play was very distressing but my doctor told me that if I can strengthen my hands, I can delay the worsening of the mild case that I have now. And it seems this green egg is one of best tools for doing that. It's quite an amazing little resource that's easy to use. By the way, mine arrived with no smells of any kind.

Very useful
Kept close to the TV, the egg helps my wife cope with hand-crippling rheumatoid arthritis. A stiffer version helps me with arthritis in my thumb

Love the Eggsercizers!
I have 4 of the various Eggsercizers, from the soft green to the hardest one, that I have used over the years for various issues with my hands. They never fail to perform well for their needed task! I won't even try other brands of hand exercisers, because these are always just right.

Great for trigger fingers.
Had shots for trigger fingers and using this for therapy and it is helping me to have more flexibility in my hand. Hand surgeon recommended it.

It Actually Helps
We have the softest green egg and then the next level up in firmness, the blue egg. There is enough of a difference between the two so that we do as another reviewer suggested, starting softer in the stiff, arthritic morning and working up to the firmer egg as the day has progressed and as our hands have loosened up. There are several different exercises to be done, some included on the packaging plus others on their website. Our hands feel stronger and although it hasn't gotten rid of arthritis, it has helped with the morning stiffness as well as improved overall strength, stamina and flexibility.
