Excellent product, works well
If you care about your lawn you need to top dress it with a lawn topping soil a couple of times per year. The material should be evenly applied and one 2 cu ft bag will cover about 100 sf. This roller holds a 2 cu ft bag and will distribute the topping soil evenly and consistently over your lawn. Assembly is really easy with each part clearly numbered and foolproof instructions. The build quality is quite excellent with every piece fitting perfectly and no forcing holes to line up. It takes about 20 mins to assemble completely. Highly recommended to apply a top dressing to any lawn, your lawn will thank you for it. PS, you can also use this to cover newly seeded areas to ensure that the seeds are properly covered to germinate.

great Product.
I use it for Peatmoss mostly. Sturdy and dirty. No Wet top soil, like the kind you buy in a bag, or it will clog. I've used the hell out of it and ZERO PROBLEMS. Assembly, too easy. Used it today even. Think I bought it 4 years ago. my back and legs are toast but that's from the shoveling.

Save time and product
Works as expected. The size is perfect for weight and maneuverability. I have a bad back, so I’m not sure how I’d fare with a bigger spreader fully loaded. My wife was able to pull it around without issue as well. Very well made, seems pretty robust and heavy duty where needed. The tumbler was a bit of a struggle to piece together solo. An extra set of hands to help line up the screw holes and hold things in place would’ve been helpful( but not needed). The spreader saves time and helps displace the top soil evenly. I didn’t have to use my leveling rake as i felt things were evenly distributed .

Works really great!
Works really great and spread peat moss really well. Had a little issue when I was putting it together and the clips wouldnt stay closed but after using it they now stay closed. Not too heavy and would recommend if you are working on your yard and want something to help spread your peat moss or compost

Professional grade
I returned a "Turf Builder EdgeGuard DLX Broadcast Spreader" to the orange big box store, because having a $100 spreader that did such a poor job was intolerable. While this model does cost more, it's like advancing from a toy to something that a professional landscaper would actually use. Solid frame , rigid tub, and genuine pneumatic tractor-style wheels mean business. Handle is tall enough to push in comfort. The wide stance of the tires make turning easy. Screen and clear cover are welcome extras. The opening settings correspond to Scotts settings, which are for better or worse the industry standard. Now the bad: Unfortunately mine was handled rather roughly at the factory before packaging (although the box was undamaged) causing the lower tube was dented (I corrected) and the handgrip was torn. After much back-and-forth with Vevor I appear to be stuck with it because the only spare parts are back at the factory in China. Or as they put it: "Unfortunately, we currently only sell complete products, not accessories separately." In further correspondence they said: "we consulted the technicians about your picture and text, and they said that the damage does not affect the normal use of the product." So apparently if you get a damaged unit you're stuck with it. For a $32 credit I agreed not to return it. HEY VEVOR, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO BUILD BRAND GOODWILL!

Very nice small scale equipment for smaller yards
So far it's held up well. I used it in my front. And back yard. I used it to evenly spread soil and then after seed, my peat moss. I do not have a large yard. I've rented a peat moss spreader from HD. I got tired of rickety old cumbersome pieces of equipment. The last time I got one from HD the buckle would not stay closed and made for a very frustrating session. It didn't help that it's located in the center. It was abused rental equipment in need of replacement. 🙄 On THIS piece the buckles are on the side. This product is much smaller in size than the HD rental. Which has it's pros and cons. 1.) pro-very manageable and fits in all the corners of my small property. 2.) cons- it doesn't hold a lot so you do have to refill it more often. At the end of the day my lot is small and so it's not a big deal to refill more often. If I can get 4 uses out of, its paid for itself. I'm not about disposable products so I do purchase with intention. I hope it lasts. I also have to find place to store it. But for me it was worth the purchase and it was about $75 bucks. It's NOT meant for heavy duty use. The welds seem sturdy for my light use but if you're doing anything bigger than 1/4 acre it's probably not a good fit. If you have a larger property then you will benefit from a larger more commercial unit like what HD rents. But for the small yard people who don't want to waste space on large commercial equipment or having to rent something this is for you. If you still want to evenly spread some soil or peat moss this is a very nice bonus yard/garden gadget to have.

Works well ...a few drawbacks though.
Works well at applying a very even 1/2" +/- layer of top soil to your yard. It does come with a few cons. Filling it with top soil can be a bit of a pain. Bagged soil is easy. Shoveling bulk soil from a wheelbarrow is a bit of a pain. I found that it was much quicker to fill (2) 5 gallon buckets and use them to load in soil. You are going to have left over material in the drum that is too large to fit through the grates. The only way to unload this chaff is by hand.

Ok piece of equipment
It gets what you need done; however, I've had it a month and I'm already seeing where this product is cheap and may not last. Not too bad to assemble and I am a girl who sucks at assembling. From the beginning, some of the rubber on the handles started to tear, but it wasn't a huge amount, so I left it due to not wanting to disassemble it. It does distribute topsoil nicely and easily, you literally push and pull. However, due to the barrel spinning, it clumps up the soil, so you have to go back in and break it up. In the end, you'll have a ton of rocks which you'll then have to clear out of the barrel. That said, the handle bars are basically attached on the side with some washers and a little clip. A month in and only using it for two small front yards (10-12 bags of top soil in) the clip on one side basically wears out and then it leaves the handle bar on side loose. Of course, its just past the return period.

Compost Spreader works as it should - very evenly!
This great and does exactly what it is supposed to do - distributes the lawn soil evenly. The drawbacks I encountered are it was a little difficult putting it together (could use a more updated manual), having to put only two bags at a time which made it tiresome to continuously do so for a larger lawn. It did however, make a great job once you put it down and so evenly - which is what I wanted it for.

A good quality unit
The spreader came in 6 days after my order was placed. The quality is quite good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tow-behind spreader for their lawns.
