It simply works
Perfect for me in re using some old IDE drives and a DVD burner into a storage hub . Under the "waste not, want not " motto. and accessing older files/ photos etc deemed forgotten . before properly wiping them for recycling.Easy to use , just set the drive jumper pins to "master" plug in the adapter board and away you go. Sata readable drives .

Works a treat
This item arrived on time , connections were easily set up, and I was able to have access to a couple of old hard drives which are now converted to external storage devices - brilliant!!!You do need a SATA adapter to connect this device to, so that you can plug it into a USB socket. Also because the PATA drives require a fair amount of current it would be advisable to have an adapter with its own power supply.

Decent for running an old disk drive on a modern PC
It's decent enough. Used it for running a disk drive in a modern PC. One major downside is that the SATA connector doesn't allow a SATA cable to lock onto it properly and the tolerances aren't great so it's extremely loose.

Just the job if you need to use a parallel connected drive with a SATA motherboard
I was decomissioning an old computer with a relatively high capacity (320GB) parallel ATA drive (3 1/2 inch "desktop size). I wanted to be able to read the drive in another computer which only had SATA drive connections available. For a few pounds this did the job.Plug in the adaptor in to the large socket on the drive, power the drive using the small included lead and then connect power and the SATA connection as you would for a SATA drive. One subtle point to note. I found that compared to a real SATA drive the adapted drive was "the other way up" (so the PCB was up rather than down) making SATA power and data leads work but beyond that I had no problems using the drive. All in all, excellent.Given the value of a 320GB drive, in pure storage terms it is probably better to just buy a new drive but I wanted the ability to read the old drive. My (Seagate) drive had what looked like a plastic enclosure (metal top plate) and so there were no "shorting" risks. The adaptor also has a mm or two gap to the drive when plugged in but I would probably look for something insulating if I was using a fully metal enclosed drive.

one hard drive only
Purchased this adapter hoping I could use my already installed sata hard drive/s to format the ide drive. After several attempts I discovered I could only get the adapter to work if I disconnected all of the other sata hard drives in my computer making the ide drive the master. This meant that I could not format the ide drive and if it did not have an o/s on it you had to install one. I also thought when the adapter was attached it was a little unstable because of the solder on the mini circuit board and it's protection pad. So it was a waste of money for me.

Cablecc IDE/PATA 40Pin Disk to SATA Female Converter Adapter PCBA for Desktop & 3.5" Hard Drive
This Cablecc IDE/PATA 40Pin Disk to SATA Female Converter Adapter PCBA for Desktop & 3.5" Hard Drive arrived quite a while ago. Only tried it out the other day 07-09-2021. For some reason it does not work inside my PC Tower. Not even with the extra power cable attached. BUT! it does work via my MagicBridge External connections. I wanted it to work inside my PC Tower, Not outside as an External. So I'll only give it 3 stars for that.

Cablecc IDE/PATA 40Pin Disk to SATA Female Converter Adapter PCBA for Desktop & 3.5" Hard Disk Drive
I am afraid this circuit did not work and there were no instructions with the converter. I suspect the drive needed to be set up as a slave with a jumper and I didn't have any. If I can source some perhaps I may rewrite this revue, but the board was only about £5 so I didn't bother returning it and am using a IDE to USB3 converter which works fine but unfortunately I cannot put the drive inside the computer cabinet and cannot find a suitable caddy to put it in along with the converter.
