I saw Facebook ads for this item for 2 years. I watched YouTube video after video. I never really could justify the cost until my faithful 10 year old InStyler began showing its age. After seeing many reviewers say that the newer models of the InStyler couldn’t hold a candle to mine, I decided to take the leap and buy the Tyme Iron and keep my beloved InStyler for occasional use.Here’s the deal - every type of curling tool has a learning curve to it. I’ve used the standard curling iron, my InStyler, two different curling wands, and now my Tyme Iron. Each tool took practice and my hair looked jacked up until I got the hang of it. Each tool required different motions and technique. The Tyme Iron is no different. It’s clear just by looking at it that it’s going to work differently than other curling tools, so going into this assuming it’s going to take the same technique will lead to disappointment.The technique needed to achieve curl is for the most part one-handed. That in and of itself takes some adjustment. I found that the YouTube videos put up from Tyme itself were more helpful than most of the reviews and tutorials out there from the general public. My first time using it, I struggled a bit but I was able to see curls starting to form. With another couple of videos I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong, and now I’m able to get ringlets! I was also able to figure out how to do my daughter’s hair with it. It definitely does take me less time to curl all of my hair and I get a kick out of watching each piece of hair spring into a curl once it slips out of the iron! I also found that it gives me wider curls and more body than my faithful InStyler, and it requires less twisting and turning of the wrist.Long story short, yes there’s a learning curve but all types of curling tools are different and require a different technique. Don’t let that discourage you from giving this a try.

I wanted this product to work so badly. After watching tutorials on YouTube by the product designer, I tried over and over again to curl my hair as the product is intended to be used. A few curls turned out beautifully, but the rest fell flat. The right and left halves of my hair never turned out with the same style curl, which looks odd. Although the company lets you schedule video calls with them to learn to use the product, before I scheduled mine I noticed chips on the iron’s plates (see photos). For $165, this product needs to be higher quality and easier to use. I found a totally different product (it’s sort of like a flat iron that’s been twisted) that’s much cheaper, easier to use, fine quality, and results in super cute curls.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this iron. I have been looking at it and wanting it purchase it for some time but due to the price tags I really had to put some hard thought into it. I read the reviews and watched MANY turtorial videos and unboxing a on YouTube. I finally decided to make the purchase and have been beyond pleased! I have stick straight, short, thick hair and when I curl it using the Tyme Iron I have body and curl. I love my hair so much!A couple things to remember...First, the downfall that I read about is that this is geared more towards right handed people and lefties seem to struggle. I’m right handed so this wasn’t an issue.Second, this takes time to learn to use. It isn’t your standard flat iron. I highly recommend watching videos and also reaching out to their Skype line.Finally the price tag, but I have thouraly enjoyed the results I’ve received from it which, to me, has made up for this.If you’re on the fence to purchase, do it! I recommend it!!!

I had literally 6 different size curlers and one straightener prior to ordering this. I wanted one for years but the price was a bit much. I finally decided to dive in and get it and the first handful of times using it I HATED IT. My hair was not curling easily.. it just was not working.Luckily I didnt give up. I kept trying (even if I meant I would end up putting my hair in a bun after) till I eventually starting getting the technique down and noticing the I was slowly but surely using it better and better.After NUMEROUS attempts I finally am in love with this iron. It gives my hair the perfect amount of curl and saves me sooo much time from the traditional curlers.It took awhile but definitely worth the effort as I now curl my hair more to give it some volume and do it with ease and in about 15 minutes. (my hair goes down to the bra on my back to give you some idea on length)

I tried this a couple times and almost decided to return it. I knew the product was legit but I was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to use it. I would watch these videos of people using the item and their curls looked beautiful, so I decided not to give up. I also saw videos of the creator getting so very happy seeing her customers light up once they figured out how to use the product. This made me want to keep trying because of how much she truly loves her product and wanting others to be able to use it too.After a couple more video watching and practicing, I was finally able to get the technique down. I am still not great at it but with practice I know I will get there. If you truly want a easy and convenient hair styling product, this is it. You just have to have the patience to keep practicing. I will not lie, it is hard to figure out how to do but practice and patience is key!! I love this so much that I have already tossed my curler and straightener and plan on using this one independently. I highly recommend if you want the convenience of having both a straightener and a curler in one item.
