Quaker Grits - Quick 5 Minutes 24 OZ (680g)

Those of us who went to school in the 70s, will remember semolina. This has that consistency. I made this with my leftover oat milk, not the water on instructions and added sugar also. I didn't use salt either, tho that was optional. I cooked for extra minute. Great taste.

I have loved Grits since our first trip to Florida in 1992, couldn’t get them over here and then after our 2025 trip to Florida when I brought grits back, I was delighted to discover the American grocer and that I could order authentic grits from them. Great product, great price and quick delivery.

I first encountered grits on a visit to South Carolina, back in the 1980's. They were served with some fried catfish I had ordered, in a restaurant called PoFolks. Looked like porridge. Rather bland but very moreish. Made from corsely stone-ground corn, grits can be an accompaniment to almost anything. Great with a fried egg on top for breakfast, or with a knob of melting butter alongside a helping of barbecued pork or steak. Back home, I tried to find a supply, only to be disappointed initially. That is, until I found Quaker grits. I have to say, they are a more than acceptable offering, given that they are 'quick' grits.

Too expensive

Love them while I was using it in the USA. Taste great. Only problem was delivery. It come in a box with other item I have ordered and it was thrown I believe during delivery and was popped inside its own packaging. Taste great with chilli butter on top.

I come out of the Deep South where Quaker Grits was the morning meal. I have missed having them since I moved to Europe. So, when I checked to see if I could get them over Amazon, I was very surprised to find them here. Quaker Grits can be cooked in the microwave or like I do them. I put about four tablespoons of grits in a small amount of water (about a cup) in a small pot and let them cook slowly on the stove. During the cooking, I stir every now and then to make sure they don't stick to the bottom of the pot. They are hearty and filling, which means I don't get hungry and want a snack before lunch or dinner. Thus, I really enjoy Quaker Grits.
