Very reliable and ACCURATE weather instrument!
Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted my OWN weather station at my home. It only took me 68 years to get the job done... I had looked at both very expensive and "cheap" weather station offerings, before settling on this setup from Ambient Weather. Setup was relatively easy, with the exception of calibrating the barometric pressure (a call to their tech support helped resolved my confusion with the written instructions, however). I later added a lightning detector, which added to the system seamlessly. If there was any "cons" to report with my setup, it would be that I am disappointed that my station only updates with Weather Underground once per minute, while most other local stations listed there are updating within seconds. This seems to be more of an issue with the Ambient platform that my station reports to, rather than the station itself. Ambient offers it's own app and online services to retrieve my live data, but it is not as impressive a presentation as what Weather Underground offers (plus, Ambient wants you to "subscribe" for upgraded features - somewhat of a turn-off in my book. Still, WU offers all I really need). Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably-priced weather station that is accurate, this would be your pick.

Does what it’s supposed to
Great basic weather station. Read the directions. Dug a hole. Stuck the pipe in the hole. Packed it in with some gravel and sand. Mounted the weather station to the pole. Turned the display console on and linked to home WiFi and done. Did some adjusting/calibrating no issues everything worked. Then went to weather underground and registered the station no problem. Took a couple of days for it to start displaying on their maps and stations list, two to three day delay is normal.Great price and has been working for a month without any issues.Good quality device without any connection issues.

Good entry level unit
note that any of these sub $300-500 are entry level, not some NOAA professional high quality station..... set your expectations accordingly. with that in mind.i did some quick interweb research and it appeared Ambient is the best of the "mass market" brand, better than AccuRite which seems to be low end.", along with a few other brands like Bushnell, etc. a friend has an Ambient for 3 years and it's been flawless. i pusposely picked the 1900A because i did NOT want wifi, I have enough connected devices and don't trust how secure the firmware might be.Set up was super simple and symching to display unit wasn't an issue. sensor construction seems like a decent build. does it seem delicate? of course as the anemometer and wind vane have to be light enough to move with wind. could they have gone with a thicker plastic sensor housing, sure but would be more $$, and likely not needed in majority of climates/instances.The display, like others have said is a P.O.S, they clearly put money into building the sensor vs the crappy display. It's really lame, but serves a simple purpose. The instructions to adjust/tune the display are near useless as others have mentioned. Most critical, even with a cheapie station is placement on your property. Majority of issues are caused by dumb people who don't know how and where to mount it.The 1900 seems quite accurate. We had a major rain event and it captured things accurately in my view after checking official rain totals (which by the way can vary by as much as 1/2" within a mile or 2. ). also, if you don't properly level the sensor it will report inaccurate readings. This is like "baby's first weather station". It's fine and should give you enough information to manage oneself thru the day....

Weather nerd's delight!
This weather station is great! It has all the bells and whistles I was looking for plus a few. Everything is well made. The display is easy to read and stores a lot of information. For example, the rain gauge shows the current rate, the amount of rain in this storm, the total for the day, week, and since it last reset. The anteometer shows the current wind speed as well as the strength of the maximum gust today. It is possible to set alarms for high temp, low temp, rain, wind. The rain gauge is clever. It never needs emptying. Rather, it has what amounts to a teaspoon sitting under a funnel and when the teaspoon fills it registers that volume of water and then dumps it, ready for the next dribble to come through the funnel. I saw some reviews that complained the funnel didn't fit tightly. That's because it was not correctly installed. You actually have to press down pretty firmly with the pins and slots properly lined up and then give a firm twist to lock it in place. Once set properly, there is no way it is coming off.The barometric pressure readout is adjustable to current absolute pressure, or relative pressure adjusted for what it would be at sea level. It also reads out in malabar's if that's your thing. The weather forecast function is surprisingly accurate. Of course, predictions based on change of barometric pressure can never compete with regional and historical data, but it is correct about 2/3 of the time. That was the standard for weather prediction when I was growing up back in the 50s.The indoor temperature and humidity, as well as outdoor temperature and humidity are all accurate. The UV and luminosity readings are interesting, but I have no way of calibrating them.Overall, it's a very complete and fairly professional setup. It's everything my nerdy little heart could ask for.

Very Good Item, Excellent Manual
In this age of poorly translated and skimpy manuals, I was really impressed with the comprehensive and detailed manual included with this product. It included a quick start, and then a more detailed installation and operation manual.Installation and setup were a breeze. It did take a while to received an emailed reply to register the product.
