BARGAIN AND IT WORKS
Kit is a great value. One of very few that gives you 100 test strips ( These are the expensive part of glucose testing.) It does take good aim to contact the tip of the test strip to the little dot of blood on your finger. Won't work well if you have a tremor. Have a good magnifying glass handy, to read the instructions. It's a good set up with no bells and whistles. I think only really suited to those who pay out of pocket for supplies. I can't find the test strips, which are very reasonable compared with other brands, except on Amazon. I believe that Amazon is NOT a participating medicare provider, so no benefit from Medicare part B.

Good Monitor
First of all, I don't have diabetes or a blood glucose problem. I've been on a keto diet and was just curious what my fasting blood glucose was. That said, if you are diabetic or have blood glucose problems you might want to get a more accurate monitor. It would give different readings, some of which were wider apart than I expected when done several times in a row. But I still think it's a good monitor and will give a good ballpark figure of one's blood glucose level. I had to watch a Youtube video to really understand how to use it. After learning how it was easy to use.

Excellent value for testing cat's blood sugar, but would choose something sturdier for a human
My son was diagnosed with insulin-dependent diabetes just after his 2nd birthday (he's now grown), and this is not the test kit I would choose for him or any person who can afford something sturdier that needs to be able to withstand hard use. Several things about it seem a bit flimsy, from the carrying case to the lancing device to the actual meter. The carrying case interior pocket isn't closable or tight, which means alcohol swabs and extra lancing needles fall out, along with the meter. That's annoying.I highly rec this test kit for a pet with diabetes!!! You don't need to buy a pet test kit, which is so expensive (the cost of the test strips is insane on pet kits). Just learn the scale comparison of human kits to the pet kit and save a ton of money with a human meter. (To compare the numbers on a human test kit like this one and a pet-specific kit, you just use a scale that is 20 pts down from the pet meters. So 50-150 is the 'safe' range of normal for a cat on insulin with a human test kit like this one, as opposed to 70-170 on a pet-specific meter. Easy!)For cats with diabetes (which mine recently developed, because I cause pancreatic dysfunction), this kit is fantastic! It's very affordable--not just the unit, but all the supplies that go with it, especially the test strips. And if your cat is indoors and you don't travel with him/her very much, there's no need to have equipment that stands up to rough handling, nor a case that keeps everything neatly organized.Tl/dr: about 3 stars for humans, due to flimsiness; 5 stars for cats!

Quality product/ Reliable
Very happy with this item. Reliable & couldn't be easier to use. No test strip codes to worry about; unit is self-calibrating. Remembers past test results. Quality product that work as advertised.

Easy to use and comes complete.
This meter says it is within the ISO Standards of +/- 15%. My husband took it to his medical appointment and they were happy to compare it to their medical grade meter. On the medical meter his fasting number was 89. On this meter it was 98. That's 9 points difference. Since this was in the acceptable +/- 15% allowed, it was fine. We will just note it on our manual. It's easy to use and uses a smaller sample than our last meter. Love that it comes with a case. What would make the case better is that the mesh pocket had a zipper. Anything we put in it just falls back out. You can put a lot of readings into the memory which is great to look back on. The price was right for what we got. I spent a lot of time comparing and this one was my final choice. Love that there is no more coding (been a while since I bought a meter but the last one required coding). Comes with everything you need to get started.

Nice bute Way Off
I bought this as a 'Stand By/Backup' in the event my Livongo went out, or I was without it. It is woefully inaccurate; as much as 20 to 40 +/- points. This unit tests the solution on the higher side of the scale, while my Livongo Monitor test generally lower half to middle of the result test solution scale. It just showed me a 185 and the Livigno was 143 (after Breakfast), that is 42 points (around 22%+/- difference) and that means the difference between eating salad and veggies and getting hungry before I leave work at 3:30, or something that will last me until supper at 5:30.I don't trust this Care Sens unit at all, I have determined it is at maximum 22+% too high off when it reads like 180's, and at minimum 20+% off when it reads as low as 140's and my Livongo would show 105 to 112. I was hoping it was the test strips, but no. The unit is just what it is, a cheap unit and you get what you pay for I guess. All in all not impressed at all with the unit, but the test strips I like, it takes so little blood. I like the readable display and it only takes 5 seconds. Side by side with my Livongo, no contest. This is a huge difference, and my Endocrinologist knows I take my T-2 Diabetes SERIOUSLY, and has commented on how good the unit is for a primary single person unit.I know my Livongo is pretty accurate, it is within 2% to 3% of the McKesson Meter my Endocrinologist uses in her office; which is well within 5% as recommended for accuracy.ALSO, it barely lasted a year and a half, I have a Livongo that I have had since 2018 and it is still rocking with the rechargeable batteries.
