Awesome grinding wheels, but consider your needs, they are pricey.
Finally tried these wheels, they are pricey, but 3M has never let me down, and sometimes it pays to get the good stuff, so I bit the bullet and tested these out.Performance:These wheels perform like nothing I've ever used, they remove material at a very high rate and don't seem to load the grinder up as much for the amount of material removed.Durability/longevity:I've used everything from high end Metabo to the garbage at Harbor Freight, these wheels are in line with the best of them for durability and life expectancy, I've done a lot of grinding with just the first wheel and it barely looks worn in. Without doing a side by side comparison, I'd put these wheels at the top of the list with Metabo and other top notch manufacturers.Value:Here's where you have to crunch your numbers, they are not necessarily the best value out there. While they perform magnificently, they also cost twice what decent wheels in the local home store cost (individually purchased), and 6-8 times the cost of buying decent wheels in bulk online. Do they perform twice as good and last twice as long as the wheels that cost half as much, no. They do perform better and they do last longer (maybe 25-35% longer in my experience thus far), but not double. Compared to the best value you can find in bulk online, I can buy almost 8 times as many wheels, now they don't perform nearly as well (50-60% as well) and they don't last as long (40-50% as long), but even with the worst performance and durability losses, these still cost more than twice as much for the same work completed. That's where you have to factor your time in, if you're a shop working on bid jobs, these make a lot of sense. The additional cost of these wheels is minor compared to the additional labor costs when using lower performance wheels, so overall you will make more money on the job by completing it faster and that more than offsets the additional cost of these wheels. For the home/hobby user, cost is usually the biggest factor, so unless you need the performance gains, you are better off finding a bulk deal on some decent non-name brand wheels online. I will probably stick with decent bulk wheels for my uses.

Most aggressive wheel I have used in my 20+ years in the shop
These wheels are AGGRESSIVE! The 4.5” wheels cut near as fast (maybe just as fast) as my 7” grinder does with a new “standard” wheel. And this is with light pressure, barely more than the weight of the grinder doing the work.I do a fair bit of grinding and have worn out what has to be hundreds of grinding wheels in my life. These are the most aggressive cutting and longest lasting wheels I have used to date. Current wheel has been used to sharpen at least 2 dozen blades from commercial mowers (near 1/4” thick high carbon heat treated steel) and what has to be 2 hours of grinding on fabrication projects, yet it barely shows signs of wear and still cuts like new.I can’t see myself buying another type of wheel for Fast material removal. These are simply too good to bother with anything else.

Best grinding wheels available
They aren’t cheap, but they are really good and last a lot longer than a traditional wheel. They also make way less dust and the grindings are more like steel wool.

Very fast cutting and out last others by at least twice
These Cubitron discs cut at least twice as fast as any others we have tried, and thay last as long as several of the conventional ones, which even makes them cheaper in long run. They also do not heat metal nearly as fast and are easier on the grinder, as ther is very little pressure needed. I am by no means a safety fanatic, but using these be sure to use eye protection. These discs don't throw the usual metal dust of discount stones, they throw shards that you can actually see, some are big enough to pick up!

What a cutter
This disk says that it removes more material and that is definitely what it does. I was grinding the slag off of welds on a cattle fence and it cleaned up the joins like a dream.

This it one of the best abrasives on the market today
This it one of the best abrasives on the market today. Occasionally, one of these discs will have a slight wobble that makes your grinder vibrate.
