A Game Changer!
I’ve been looking for a solution to keep me sleeping on my side. Having previously tried air backpacks with minimal success, I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this. Unlike the air backpack, which I could still manage to sleep on my back with, the ApneaShield's unique design ensures that the ball stays perfectly in place on my back. This is also really breathable. With the air backpack, I often found myself waking up feeling overheated and uncomfortable. The ApneaShield's material allows for excellent air flow. It's a significant upgrade in terms of comfort and has made a world of difference in my quality of sleep. It's also very comfortable and barely noticeable while I'm sleeping on my side. I also no longer require a CPAP machine because of this, so long as I can stay on my side overnight. This has been a game-changer for me. It outperforms previous solutions I've tried and delivers on its promises of comfort, breathability, and effectiveness. If you're looking for a reliable way to ensure you stay sleeping on your side and want to improve your overall sleep quality, I highly recommend giving this a try.

Reduced snoring
I’ve used this about 6 months now. .,a nose breather, but snored from soft palate vibrations sleeping on my back and/or with nose congestion. I slept with a snore mouthpiece for 14 yrs until recently, questioning dentists over yrs about bite changing, until a new dentist agreed my bite has changed with front teeth hitting & chipping. Orthodontists fitted me with aligners$$, and so began a mission to reduce snoring without CPAP since AHI is barely 7.5 (5 considered normal), and I sleep great ..no daytime sleepiness. Using backpack with a 7.5” wedge pillow & small pillow, a pulse ox, snore app, and sometimes mouth tape, snoring reduced significantly unless I have a stuffy nose or sinuses. It’s seems like a lot.. but I can avoid sleepless nights adjusting CPAP, & I sleep as well as ever. Also, added 3 golf balls and 1-2 pickleballs to zippered pocket to keep me off my back & prevent balls shifting w moving side to side.,Works like a charm to reduce snoring.

Returned
This vest was easy and comfortable to wear. The wooden ball hurt my back. While it is a deterrent to back sleeping I didn’t anticipate that it would cause the lasting pain it did. Could have swapped out ball as recommended by other reviewers but returned instead.

Keeps me off my back, but the ball is uncomfortable
Seems to work great, had it about a week. The ball wakes me up a bit when I roll onto it and it hurts my back - I suppose this is part of the design, it's supposed to be uncomfortable so you move but damn. Thinking about switching out the ball for a tennis ball. The harness thing itself is comfortable, adjustable, and holds the ball in place. I'd recommend it! Just wish I could be more comfortable wearing it when I sleep.

Brilliant solution
Several times a month I would think that I had enough sleep and yet feel just brain dead all day. I could have gone to a sleep clinic, with much inconvenience, but I felt pretty sure it was an issue of apnea. That's when I read that sleep apnea is often related to back sleeping. I would often awake on my back, so this device seemed to make a lot of sense.....I've not had that weird brain dead feeling since I started using it. Definitely keeps me off my back. I substituted a tennis ball for the larger ball supplied. The thing slips on over the head and is not uncomfortable in the least. For those who think the thing is too expensive relative to the minimal materials, just try inventing and manufacturing and marketing your own device -- you might change your mind.

LIkely effective but uncomfortable to wear
This product seems well made, and I think this would be effective in keeping you from sleeping on your back. However, I found it uncomfortable, even when using a softer tennis ball and even while lying on my side. Everyone's body is different, and you may find this not to be an issue. The product also seems expensive for what it is. At a lower price point I might have just kept it and seen if I could adapt.

Very prominent brand labeling
I'm going to return this item because the sleep backpack proved to be a better choice for me. Meanwhile, though, I want to echo another reviewer who noted that the brand labeling on this item is somewhat over the top. Who wants to go to sleep with APNEA SHIELD written in glow-in-the-dark reflective letters across their chest and then repeated another four times--all in 1 1/2 high lettering--all around the chest strap? It makes sense to include a brand name on a product but including it five times is overkill.

Expensive, but it works!
For those reviewers who found that this didn't work well: perhaps your mattress is too soft, so that the ball sank in and wasn't uncomfortable enough to keep you on your side. Lose the mattress topper, or get a firm one. This thing WORKS. Even if you succeed in rolling onto your back and getting in a couple of snores, the discomfort will catch up to you pretty quickly on a moderately firm mattress (and yes, I did this experiment myself). It's hard to believe I'd write such a positive review for a product that has made me so miserably uncomfortable and changed a deeply engrained, lifetime habit and preference - starting on night one. But apnea is deadly, and it turns out that I want to live to a healthy old age slightly more than I want to sleep on my back. The Snore Lab app told me that I snore like a wild boar. A sleep study told me that I stop breathing 100 times per night, nearly always when I'm on my back. So it was CPAP or side sleeping. This device is cheaper than CPAP, so I tried it first. It's been a month, and the change is profound. Yes, my neck, back, and hips are complaining a lot, since they are not used to this position, but it's getting better and I'm tinkering with pillows. So if you're uncomfortable initially, well, yeah, you're supposed to be! It hurts to roll onto a big hard ball! If you need more discomfort, there's room for an additional tennis ball in there with the cork ball. I will say that the straps are intended for a bigger person than I am, and I need to tighten them regularly, as they tend to slip. Also, the shoulder/over the head part is too loose, so I do have a few problems with stability. But it is far more secure, and comfortable to wear, when snug than I imagined. This thing is totally worthwhile!

It works!!! Massive reduction in Sleep Apnea
I'm really impressed with this device. I've been using it for a week now, and my AHI/Sleep Apnea numbers have dropped from between 5 and 10 down to between 0 and 1, which is a fantastic improvement. Turns out that nearly all my sleep apnea problems result from me sleeping on my back, and when I'm on my side, it is generally okay. The device is extremely neat and well made. It fits quite easily. I found it a bit uncomfortable, but I'm gradually getting used to it. The only thing I've noticed so far is that I have less deep sleep. But I think when I'm totally used to it, it will just be perfect. If you think sleeping on your back is a problem, then I would 100% recommend this.

Highly recommended
This really works well. I’ve been using it for months now and it prevents me from unconsciously reverting to sleeping on my back during the night. It’s comfortable to wear and it’s made from good quality material. My partner has noticed a massive improvement with my snoring now that I use this product to help keep me sleeping on my side. I highly recommend. I also use a Somnowell device which is a game changer

Ist topo expansive!
It is all about a veste with a ball. A hard one! The ball. It can break your bones if you are not conscious about it when you sleep. Way to expensive for what it is and it’s purpose. I would rather send it back but I paid already extra 10 € for taxes oversiees. They ask me to send a pic from the receipt and I will have my money back but I didn’t know they offer this service and I’ve thrown it away. What can I say? Did I mention it is expensive?🥲

Didn't Work
Might work for others but not me. Amazingly I manage to turn and lie on top of the ball and get a sore back instead.
