Works as original. Much brighter illuminated DTMF keyboard (RED LIGHTS!)
Getting good reports. Folks claiming I'm loud and clear. Using on a Yaesu FT-2980R...In fact, "turned-down" the mic gain on the radio (Thru Menu) 1 pt/back to "5" (stock setting)....Display is VERY bright RED vs a subdued orange on the OEM mic. Feels maybe a tad "lighter" in weight. This radio is used as a base unit, never leaving the house, so this mic should last atleast as long as the OEM (which I think is just clogged with dirt).

Good replacement option
Very well made and good quality item. Bought it to replace a mic I thought I did not have but returned it because I had the original mic after all. Would definitely consider as rrplacement needs arise.
