Sony Pulse 3D Headset – A Complete Rip-Off, Avoid at All Costs
I bought into the hype of Sony’s Pulse 3D headset, thinking I was getting a top-tier product. After using it for a while, I can confidently say that Sony’s claims are nothing but marketing fluff. This headset is a prime example of how Sony overcharges for inferior, proprietary technology, leaving customers stuck with a product that’s not only overpriced but also outperformed by cheaper, more versatile alternatives. Here’s the hard truth:Proprietary Wireless Technology: The Pulse 3D headset doesn’t use Bluetooth, and it requires a specific dongle to work wirelessly. Lose that dongle? You’re out of luck. You’ll have to hunt through third-party sellers (if you can even find one) just to make the thing work wirelessly again. There are no alternatives, no third-party adapters, nothing. This kind of anti-consumer, proprietary nonsense is a blatant rip-off. Meanwhile, other brands offer headsets that are not only wireless through universal connections like Bluetooth or RF but also more reliable overall.Mediocre Sound Quality: Sony touts the 3D audio like it’s revolutionary. Let me tell you: it’s nothing special. I’ve used headsets like the Logitech G435, and the sound quality is noticeably better, despite it being a cheaper product. The Pulse 3D’s sound is underwhelming and doesn’t live up to the 3D audio hype that Sony pushes so hard.Poor Comfort: Comfort is a huge factor for anyone gaming or using a headset for long sessions, and Sony fails here too. The Pulse 3D is not particularly comfortable, especially when compared to the G435 or my Captain 300, both of which feel much better during extended use. Given how much Sony charges for these headsets, they could at least make them pleasant to wear.Subpar Microphone Quality: Let’s talk about the microphone. Sony decided to go with built-in microphones, which sound muffled and low-quality compared to other headsets with boom mics like the Captain 300. People I’m chatting with often tell me that my voice is much clearer when I’m using my other headsets. Sony couldn’t even be bothered to include a proper mic, but still charges a premium.Terrible Customer Support and No Replacement Parts: Sony offers no easy way to get replacement dongles. Their proprietary RF technology means you can’t just use a universal adapter, and there’s no official replacement for the dongle on the market. If you lose it or it breaks, your headset is essentially bricked for wireless use. The wired option is still there, but it’s a laughable “solution” when I specifically bought these for wireless use.The Bottom Line:Sony’s Pulse 3D headset is nothing more than a cash grab. It’s no better than the cheaper alternatives on the market in terms of sound quality, comfort, or microphone clarity. In fact, I’d say the cheaper headsets I’ve used, like the G435 or Captain 300, outperform it in nearly every way. The only reason Sony charges so much is because of their name and their proprietary tech trap.If you’re thinking about buying this headset, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Sony’s products are overpriced, underwhelming, and designed to trap you in their ecosystem. I’m done wasting money on Sony products. There are far better options available at a fraction of the cost. Sony’s reputation for high-quality products is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Save your money and avoid being another victim of their overpriced, underperforming gear.

Bluetooth will not connect to phone.
You can buy a 10 dollar pair of headphones that actually connect to your phone, and will probably stay on your head. Very disappointed, TBH do not buy.I had to buy an adapter for the headphones because it only connects to the usb stick that is included. Also they are uncomfortable, barley fits on my head, it's always falling off and it has no sound suppressing. Very disappointed, it would be a 1 but I gave it a 2 because it has decent battery and I use the headphones as a backup. I wish I could have returned it but I waited too late.
