Works great, impressive quality.
Looks great, works great. I’m impressed by the tight tolerances, fits perfectly over the steerer tube on a cane creek fork, the hammer pin fins perfectly in the guide sleeve. High quality, great value.

Very high quality
I just bought a new Fox fork and needed to install a star nut. My biggest concern was in getting the nut hammered in straight. I looked at others and this looked to be the best one for the price. The PT version was just too expensive since I'll only be using this very rarely. I was pleasantly surprised by how high quality this was. Due to the gaskets on the inside of the tool it slide perfectly on my forks steerer tube without any play or slop at all. It is a extremely precise fit so the gaskets grab a little so you just have to be patient and put it over the tube slightly slow and not just slam it on. I saw some others mention that they used a light coat of grease to help it go over their steerer. I didn't need to use any grease but I can see how that would make it easier if someone was having trouble getting it on their fork. I just used my soft faced mallet and gave it about four or five good whacks and the star nut was seated perfectly. I used a caliper to measure how far down it was in the steerer tube and it was the same distance as the star nut that was in the Fox fork that came with my bike. The nut was straight and everything went smooth. My fork came with a star nut included so I used that but I looked at the star nuts included with this tool and they look and feel as high quality as the star nut that Fox included. I'm very happy with this purchase even though I will barely get any use out of the tool.

Nice tool.
Took a minute to figure out exactly how to use it. No instructions, of course, but it worked flawlessly. A very good-looking tool, as well. Very well made.

Very well made tool for the Price, but missing pieces.
For the price, this is a very well made tool, which makes the job of installing 1 1/8" headsst star nuts very easy. Ad clearly states that tool comes with 2 replacement center screws (I think they mean one plus a spare) but mine came with no replacement screw. I scheduled a return and ordered a replacement; it too came with only one screw, so it would appear they commonly ship that way. Contacted seller, who has promised to ship a spare to me; we'll see if it happens. Other than that, it is the best star nut tool I've found.

Great quality
I converted one of my ebikes from a standard from fork to a downhill fork. After some cutting and grinding I needed to install a new nut. I found out the old one couldn’t be reused. This tool came with the nuts and within moments the new nut was popped into place in the housing and perfectly aligned. Very simple to operate and installs the star nut in perfect alignment and depth.

Perfect Star Nut Install
This tool installed my star nut perfectly! I've used it twice so far and it has been great. I read a couple reviews from people having trouble inserting it over the steerer tube because of the rubber gasket. I felt a little resistance when I first used it, but I put a tiny bit of grease on the inside of the tool around the rubber seals and then kind of twisted it on the steerer tube. Super smooth and it holds the tool in place really well and does not scratch the steerer tube. My only critique would be that after you hammer in the star nut and remove the (orange) sleeve, when you unscrew the bolt into the star nut, mine unscrewed from the tool portion, just leaving the bolt in the star nut. Not really a problem, though. I just had to unscrew it with my fingers. Would be nice if it stayed in the tool better. Highly recommend this tool and you can't beat it for the price.

It has one job, and it does it perfectly well.
This is one of those tools that more or less fall in to the Pass/fail category for me. Not complex, has a very singular and niche usage, and it either does what it is supposed to or it doesn't. In this case, it does exactly what it is supposed to. In my personal case I used it to set a star-nut in a Manitou mezzer pro fork. Sleeve fit perfectly but a little snug around the steer tube, and the insertion depth using the tool was identical to the insertion depth on my stock from the factory fork. In general the biggest risk would be deforming the silver cylinder (which is why you would usually use a synthetic hammer for this) but even using a metal hammer (I'm lazy, they are faster) the cylinder had no mushrooming at the head. All in all, I can't see *any* reason to buy a more expensive version of this tool for home use. Maybe long term if you are installing hundreds of star nuts it would start to show more wear than a more expensive version, but if you just need something to do work on your home bikes, this will do exactly what you want it to do at an incredibly reasonable price.

Saved by the Fly nut
Great little tool! If you're having a wiggle in your fork, check the fly nut and replace it with this if it's damaged or come loose. I've paid 400 dollars to "mechanics" to do absolutely nothing and then 27 bucks to get this and do it myself. Thanks for the save!

Works as it should.
Although not the greatest quality, it does the job it is intended for.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do.
When I tried installing without this tool, I couldn't do it. But with this tool, inserting a star nut is a piece of cake. Comes with plenty of nuts, too. Don't be alarmed, like me, when it is hard to unscrew after you smashed in the nut. It can take a lot of force to unscrew, but it will come out cleanly.
