Zinc, Thick, White
It's what you would expect from a zinc stick. The product does an excellent job of providing sun protection once you get it on. It's very thick and spreads slowly. It does not have a bad smell. This is best to use on the areas that get extra sun exposure (nose, cheeks, shoulders) but is too difficult to use everywhere. It's a great size to toss in a bag or keep in the car to always have sun protection on hand!

Sunscreen in a compact tin! Good coverage for all outdoor activities
I have never used sunscreen from a tin before so I was excited to try this. It's a bit like balm in that you just rub some on to your fingers and then spread it on your skin. It seems to blend well into the skin but not quite as easy to apply as a liquid. All in all, this is more convenient for traveling since liquids are so limited on airplanes. It's small and light enough to toss into your purse and always have it when you need it. We tried this for the first time on my son this weekend during his soccer game and it definitely did its job protecting him from the sun. Two thumbs up!

Slightly Irritating For Me
Pros: I looked up every ingredients listed on the EWG website and none were considered toxic. I like the compacted metal container for packing in purse, diaper bag or even your back pocket. SPF 40, water resistant for 80 minutes and there is a clearly marked expiration date. It's manufactured in the USA and the company lists their telephone number.Cons: Marketed as a "brush on balm" but the brush is sold separately, which I did not purchase, and carting around a brush decreases the convenience of the thin canister. The balm is very thick so it takes a bit to get it on your fingers and then rub it on your kid's face, and repeat, to get good coverage. You can not do large areas. This seems to be just for nose, checks and maybe ears but as difficult as it is to apply I don't see kids tolerating it. I tested it on myself first and found it to be slightly irritating on my face and I can feel that I'm wearing it.

Favorite aspect is that it disappears
I'm not sure what "brush on" is intended to mean. I can't imagine trying to apply this with a brush. Even with my fingers, I could only get the small amount that melted with my body heat. That said, I am using this for a very specific and relatively small area, so I don't need much. If I were planning to apply it more widely to myself or a child, I wouldn't bother. It would take too long to apply while at the same time not last long enough to be worth it. The product itself is pretty good. The scent is mild and pleasant. I very much like that it disappears visually and tactilely. Rub it in and forget it. I'll absolutely use it until it's gone, but it's not a candidate for reorder. The value just isn't there for me.

A little difficult to open tin and rub product in completely, but protected skin well
I like that this sunscreen is mineral based and reef safe. It comes in a tin which is convenient for taking on the go, however, it's so thin that it can be a little hard to twist it open. You can either apply the product with your fingers or with a brush- I used a small foundation brush to apply to this to my kids faced. It picked up and spread pretty well due to the short flat shape of the bristles I used. It did leave a white cast and would have been hard to rub it in enough for it disappear. This brush-on method was a little bit slower than the sunscreen stick that we typically use for our kid's faces. The sunscreen did stay on well through a couple hours of swimming and protected our fair skin.It is pretty expensive for the amount you get, but a little does seem to go a long way.

Reef Friendly Mineral Sunblock with SPF 40
Brush On Block Kids Broad Spectrum Sun Protection, Hydration Balm, SPF 40, Perfect for Sensitive Skin, For All AgesBrush on Block (BoB) is the brand, and lots of their products are powder sunblock you brush on. However, this particular product is a small flat tin of sunblock. I used my fingertips to remove, warm up and then apply as needed. To be a bit more sanitary, you can use those skincare spatulas. Nice little tin to toss in a bag without worrying about spillage.BoB is priced $20 for 1 oz. Just comparing to a similar product, I had previously purchased Badger's https://a.co/d/1lUW9uL which is $14 for 2.4 oz tin, so $5.66 per 1 oz. Honestly, I'd go with Badger's just for the price. They're both similar products, Reef friendly SPF 40 Mineral (Zinc oxide) sunscreen.

No odor, applies easily, best for winter sports, very compact.
This is container reminds me of the old shoe polish containers, but it does not have that twistable metal piece to help open this container quickly. I believe this is a great sunscreen and works equally well. It comes in a very compact case and is perfect for winter sports like snowboarding or skiing where only a tiny portion of your face is exposed.I found this to be quite expensive for its size, but if it was available at the counter next to the register at the ski lodge or resort at the last minute I would instantly buy it.

Difficult to apply
It says it is brush on, and I used one of my make up brushes, but I do not feel like it goes on my face for enough protection and mostly stays on my brush and its difficult to come off. It does not come with its own brush. It contains 23% zinc oxide as its main physical filter sunscreen which is a very high amount to offer excellent protection....if enough is applied to the skin.I wish this came in a stick for application. I ended up using my fingers to rub on the balm and then apply it, takes more time. Container is also very thin and was somewhat difficult to open.No fragrance.
