This light gets used in my studio EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Plenty bright, very accurate color, super portable, easy to use, built like a little tank, functionality is massively upgraded when using the app - not to mention getting to use V-Mount batteries?? PERFECT!

I’ve been searching for a portable, reliable light that doesn’t skimp on color accuracy or brightness, and this little powerhouse fits the bill perfectly (and I don't just mean financially!). Let me tell you why.First off, let’s talk size and weight—it’s barely bigger than my camera before adding the globe difuser! That makes it super easy to pack up and take anywhere for traveling content creators. Or for faculty like me who have limited space, but need a powerful light like me, not having a bulky light to lug around is a game-changer.But just because it’s compact doesn’t mean it’s holding back on performance. The Upgraded High SSI LED design is where this light truly shines (pun intended!). The color rendering is fantastic. Whether I’m capturing interviews, recording a lecture, or facilitating class online, the colors are accurate and vibrant, which is exactly what you want from a professional-level LED.Another big plus for me is the universal Bowens Mount. I already own a bunch of modifiers—softboxes, reflectors, you name it from all these other lighting solutions I have tried and those from my photography hobby. Being able to swap them right onto this light without any fuss is such a relief. Plus, the stand adapter has an umbrella holder, so you can really get creative with different lighting setups. It’s like they thought of everything you might need. This light will grow with you and be flexible.The fact that the Amaran 60d S includes a dual NP-F battery plate and is also D-Tap compatible (cable sold separately) means I can power it in tons of situations. If I’m out in the field, I can just pop on my NP-F batteries. If I’m near a larger battery source with a D-Tap cable, I can hook it up that way, too. It’s all about flexibility!Now, if you love getting creative with your lighting, you’ll appreciate the 8 built-in lighting FX—Paparazzi, Fireworks, Lightning, Faulty Bulb, TV, Pulsing, Strobe, and Explosion. It is not something, that I have used, but I do play with a little just for fun. For the right creator, combining these features withthis will be a game changer.Overall, the Amaran 60d S has easily become one of my favorite pieces of gear and I'm constantly looking at new ways to utilize it. I've used this Aputure amaran 60dS light for several weeks now, It's been great for my small studio space where I create video content especially for talking head. I do keep the light very close and even then I'm only having to use 12% of it's power level.Attached to it is my Aputure Light Dome Mini 2 or 3, I do use the app to turn it on & off which is great since I never have to tough the light it self.Now I only need to invest in the RGB version.
