This is a great box set of all the episodes and it certainly ...
You probably need to be of a certain age to really appreciate the magic that is Camberwick Green and the youngsters of today aren't likely to appreciate the gentle magic that made this SO special when I was growing up. This is a great box set of all the episodes and it certainly brings back memories of a happy childhood. It's just wonderful to see all those characters come back to life and everything is just as I remember it. No CGI, no gizmos and gadgets, no complicated plots or racing dialogue, just a lovely nostalgic journey through a classic tv series. Happy days :-)SPOILER ALERT - look out for the absolutely hilarious moment when Windy Miller falls asleep after drinking too much cider, so maybe there is a slight nod to the 21st century after all!

Memories of being 6 again
Amazing what you can remember. Little fun trip down memory lane when life was so simple. I was probably about 6 when I last watched this. (I'm now 60 but just for a while there I was a 6yr old again).

A Wonderful Purchase
My husband and I loved watching Camberwick Green with our girls (in the 1980s): catchy music, good stories for little ones to learn from and a quiet approach which held their interest. Today's children's TV is full of flashing images and sounds, as if no one has an attention span longer than 5 seconds. Camberwick Green helped our girls learn to listen to a story. We wanted our granddaughter to have the same experience (and so did our daughter!) so we were delighted to see this available. Our granddaughter is too young yet but my husband and I couldn't resist watching the first episode...surprise, surprise, we still knew all the words to the songs!I highly recommend this product to all parents and grandparents.

First of the Trilogy :)
One of those that has not becomse a dinosaur! This is quality, lovely, childrens entertainment that for some probably has more value as a nostalgia trip for adults. Not all modern childrens telly is tripe and not all older series were great, but this one is.Aging technical issues aside, I feel Camberwick Green (+ Trumpton et al) are still watchable now. A lot of "retro childrens TV" is now available on TV, but do your review research well as you might not feel all series hold up to the test of time. An example for me is/was The Clangers, whose nostalgia wore off quickly and I didn't like it so much. Bagpuss though, is still great. Then there's the cartoons. Has Dangermouse ever been topped? Discuss.... :)

When I was a lad
I too thought I had a slightly dodgy copy seeing some picture wobble, but I can see from other reviews I'm not alone. That said I would buy it again just as it is, my favourite is good old Windy Miller. I forgot that its not like Postman Pat's more modern animation silly me it was 1966 after all. For the moment my 2 year old daughter prefers Postman Pat, Bob, Sam and the Little Red Tractor but it was as much for me as my kids and I am not disappointed. A bargin price too, no more than a fancy cup of coffee. Go on buy it and remember how it was. I bought Trumpton too, don't miss that one either!

Children's TV
A classic series much enjoyed by parents and grandparents, who I think get very nostalgic about Camberwick Green and Trumpton when they watch them again. They were lovey innocent stories from a TV age which seems to have had its day now. I wanted my grandchildren to see them and enjoy them too and I hope they did. However they didn't ask to watch them again, which makes me think that their preferences have been moulded by quite a different style of TV entertainment these days. What a pity.

More Fun than a can of baked beans!
I can't believe there haven't been any 5-star ratings for this PROFOUND television series. You may say "it's a children's show!" and while it's squeaky clean and child-friendly, there are MANY moments of GENIUS during this INCREDIBLE program. Take the episode where the cuddly soldier bakes some cakes, now THAT is what call a good idea! Then there's the episode where the townspeople start prefering free-range eggs...Other shows didn't do that till the 90's! They even use the word "petrol", a word banned by the BBC during 1999!! What are you waiting for, BUY THIS NOW!!
