Fabric ordered twice & second ordere
I ordered this item twice, I loved the quality of the first lot of fabric & was so impressed I used it to make a quilt for my daughter but ran out before It was finished so I ordered more but the second fabric just didn't live up to the first orders fabric quality so I had to spend a day out shopping trying to track down some fabric like the first ordered! As a wheelchair user it's not always easy to get out & about on my own which is why I shop for most things online!

As good as any brand name heavy duty quilting cotton at half the price!
Was a bit unsure about what this fabric would be like due to price being so much lower than the Kona cotton I was going to buy instead (twice the price at cheapest supplier, same spec) and am delighted to say it is fantastic quality! Perfect for quilting provided you want a good thick cotton as it isn't flimsy. I have test washed it and the shrinkage was 1.5" over 36" with no distortion at all (unlike a recent purchase from a big name designer range that had to have almost 20% trimmed off it twisted so much) I'm absolutely delighted with it.

Develops vertical creases
The fabric on opening was nice and smooth and seemed to have quite a bit of finishing in it so I cut off a 12 inch strip across the width, washed it by hand, dried, and it developed strong vertical lines as though it had been scruffily folded into one inch vertical folds and pressed. I ironed, the lines came out, and cut up into large 12 inch squares for a project.I transfered my design, coloured with inktense, and then washed flat, by hand in warm water. All the strong vertical creases came back. So, I don't think this is going to be suitable for what I wanted which was to do some freestyle machine embroidery plus inktense pencil work, as once in a quilt it won't be possible to ever iron it flat again, and the squares will be rather distorted. On the other hand it took the iron on transfer well, and the inktense pencil work spread out nicely with water but didn't run when I gave it its flat soak to make sure all the ink was activated (hope it's permanent). Not sure, but I will give a couple of squares a go and if no good for embroidery will use for practice and backing to the quilt squares.

Loss Of Material?
This 7m of fabric came directly from Amazon although supplied by DalstonMill in sealed branded packaging. On opening both outer sides of the white fabric were badly stained plus on measuring the fabric came to less than 6.5 metres so generally we were probably getting 5m of good fabric. The fabric is of decent quality but they need to rectify the problem of stained fabric plus get there measurements correct because this seems to be reported on previous reviews.

The Good and the Bad
The good :- I bought this to make something far a birthday and it arrived very quickly, seems this enough and soft enough for the task. BUT!The Bad :- A good square foot is as you see in the picture, looks as if it’s been folded and dropped on the floor or the inside of the bag it was in was dirty perhaps, either way, it’s not acceptable and I don’t have time to got through the return procedure and nor did i have to want to go into a post office right now. I’ll get what i can from it or it will have cost me more than it’s worth. Sad as I’ve had some reasonable material from them in the past

Two badly stitched together pieces
To my utter amazement they sent me a 3m length, but what they don't tell you is that it's comprised of a 2m length with a really badly stitched 1m length added on to make up the 3m. As you can see from the photo they haven't even bothered to remove the pen marks from this shoddy job. Needless to say this is being returned.

Worked well stop reflection for recorded time-lapse
Black sheet with clamp on windows worked well helped stopped reflection off come from street light outside went reflection to white wall then reflection to windows shiny like mirror.1st picture on top pic - was badly reflection on window, on bottom pic - with black sheet seen much better stop reflection.I doing record time-lapse on my camera when dusk I quick black sheet clamp windows because due street light turn on cause reflection to window from white wall.

FANTASTIC QUALITY
This is really good, quite heavy weight cotton. Ideal for quality sewing tasks. I'm making, for a start, a maxi-length underskirt for a very thin cotton maxi-skirt but this fabric is thick enough for shirts, trousers, table-cloths and probably curtains if you wanted.
