How large of a hole can it repair?

It depends on what size repair kit you use, and what size and material of pipe you are trying to fix and weather for high pressure steam or just water. You should probably talk to the manufacturers customer service. I used it for cracks as well as 1/4” hole in high pressure steam cast iron pipes. It dries like a fiberglass cast so if it leaks you can easily cut it off and try again.

can it be used in overlapped sections and not wrapped? the pipe is too close to the wall, can't wrap the roll around it.

It would not work properly stacked rather than wrapped. The strength comes from the wrapping many layers all the way around the pipe.

How long is the fiberglass wrap, 6" x What?

It is for a pipe up to 6" in diameter but the wrap itself is 4" x 252". If you magnify the yellow circle on the package that says 6" you should be able to see the exact specs.
